Re: Speaking of the next meeting

If need be I've got one of the needed games (James Bond Something or Other) plus the needed saved game file on a memory module that plugs into the controller.  Let me know if you need it.

I also have the component A/V cable for the old-school Xbox and XBMC (XBox Media Center) looks fantastic on a HDTV.

That sounds great! I'd appreciate it if you could bring it all.

Not sure what errors he's getting. I checked the pages, and haven't seen
any errors.

Re: Speaking of the next meeting

Hard mod or soft? I have an already hard-modded system (using the
Xenium ICE chip) that can run Gentoo, but I think I may have lost the
keyboard/mouse that I hacked for it. I also don't have a small enough
TV to bring, so it would be a lame demo.

I've never done a soft mod of any kind. I think it would be fun to try.

Speaking of the next meeting

I'll bring my old Xbox and we can try modding it for the "Demo day".

Re: Spice up your LUG

Well, beer is a handy social lubricant, but even the article states
that it's not a good idea for presentations or beyond 20 people. I
think KCLUG has grown above that, and certainly the KULUA meeting in
Olathe dwarfed this number.

person wants to know what takes place at demodays and installfests

an email from from "Quincy Wofford" <quincy.wofford@...>, 2:55
PM (9 hours ago)

Hello

I am a deployment specialist for the headquarters of a medical
training college based in Mission, Kansas and I am interested in
participating in KCLUG. I have little experience with Linux in
general. I have installed and configured Debian, Red Hat, Fedora, and
I have completely failed an install of Gentoo. I can use Linux command
line for simple tasks, but I want to dig into the guts of Linux and
take advantage of features I simply can't get in Windows. I have ZERO
knowledge of the C programming language, but I do have interest in
learning how the kernel works. I would like to attend the June 3rd
meeting, but unfortunately I need to work on-site during that time...

Could you tell me more about KCLUG activities? I've tried looking into
some audio files and gallery photos but everything seems to be
unavailable at the moment. What takes place at a DemoDay vs an
Installfest? I hope to hear from you soon!

Thanks,
Quincy Wofford

The library has a projector you could probably use

Soft mod. I've been looking at doing one that just requires you to pop
out the harddrive. I think it's possible without having one of the video
games to do the save game hack, but I'm not sure.
