Yes, even I have found that the libraries are the biggest assets of
Matlab. And counterparts of many of such libraries aren't yet
available in Octave.

Please provide me a copy of it. I had tried to obtain a Linux version
of Matlab but failed due to different reasons.

Haven't tried sage, but its a very good sign. In a few years, we can
expect a decent alternative.
