Re: Nepali DVORAK

Did the discussion end there? IMO, we need to have more discussions on
Nepalese keyboard layout.
Please have a look at some of these pages (and more), and keep the
discussion going.

Best Linux distribution for Telecenters!

Today, we(Ankur and I) did a presentation to the "Telecenter Refresher
Training" at TITI, organized by HLCIT. There were 46 telecenter operators(?)
from across the Nepal, Jumla to Jhapa.

We had about 2hrs time, so we discussed so many things with them. They were
very much interested in Wikipedia, Nepalinux, LTSP and OLPC indeed.

We also demoed Ubuntu and Nepalinux(with installation). They were very much
excited with all the stuffs.

And the key thing is "They want to work with it". They have asked us for an
easy to use(migrate) Linux Distribution.

And the question is: Which distribution is best for them? Ubuntu(customized)
or Nepalinux or Fedora(customized?) or any other?

or the question is invalid?

Cheers,
Shankar

I'd say the question isn't invalid. Rather they need to
allocate their time & budget (for 2/3 person team or more if that can be
afforded). The team needs to manage their IT infrastructure. The

GPLv3 and LGPLv3 released!

Dear FOSSIan,

Great news, as you must be aware that GPL v3 was long awaited, It if finally released on June 29 by Free Software Foundation (FSF) in Boston.

Just an insight :

"GPL version 3 does not restrict the features of a program; in particular, it does not prohibit Digital Restrictions Management (DRM) . However, it prohibits the use of tivoization and Treacherous Computing to stop users from changing the software. Thus, they are free to remove whatever features they may dislike."
