Re: Looking for useful or interesting XML-RPC services

Hi everyone,

I've only had two responses to my request for useful or interesting
XML-RPC services, both of which are already listed in XMLRPC.com's
directory of services.

A big thank you to the two people who took the trouble of replying
to my request for help. On reflection, my article is going not
going to use these recommendations, but I do appreciate the effort.

Best regards,
Stu

New Message: Introspection API description or spec?

A new message was posted:

Address: http://www.xmlrpc.com/discuss/msgReader$2432

By: Chris Morley (cmorley <at> vermontel.net)

Some one has asked me to implement the introspection API for my
XML RPC implementation XmlRpc++ (http://xmlrpcpp.sourceforge.net/).

The links from the XML RPC How To seem to be dead:
http://xmlrpc.usefulinc.com/doc/reserved.html
And google hasn't turned up anything beyond descriptions of a couple
of implementations.

Does anyone have the specification of these methods online somewhere?

Thanks,
Chris

Apche, PHP, Xindice GUI

Hi,

i am new in this group and join with a short question:

I have installed the Xindice XML DB. And now i tried to
setup the php_xindice GUI for this DB under Apache. In the Docs was
mentioned that i have only to copy the "gui/" Dir into the
Path of the htdocs.

But when i start one of the php-Scripts (e.g. browser.php) i got the
following message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: xmlrpc_encode_request() in
/usr/local/httpd/htdocs/gui/classes/class.XindiceDocumentCollection.php
on line 387

I have no experience neither in rpc nor in php. I think i have
something to do to activate the xmlrpc in apache. But i don't know how
to solve this problem. I have read a lot of articels in the internet
but i found no solution.

I am very thankful for any help.

Michael

New Message: New XML-RPC library for QT

A new message was posted:

Address: http://www.xmlrpc.com/discuss/msgReader$2433

By: P. Oscar Boykin (boykin <at> pobox.com)

If you use QT (a C++ toolkit) you might be interested in:

http://qutexr.sourceforge.net/
(pronounced: "cutexer")

This is an XML-RPC library which depends only on QT 3.1.

Features:
* All calls are asynchronous using QT's signals and slots.
* Supports servers as well as clients.
* Uses HTTP features to speed up operation (deflated content, and keeps tcp connections open when possible).
* Uses QT's native classes (QVariant and friends) to represent all XML-RPC types.
* Is licensed GNU GPL.

Best,
Oscar.

You can do an HTTP daemon using SOAP::Transport::HTTP. See the
documentation.

SOAP::Transport::HTTP uses HTTP::Daemon to do the daemon thing. You
would need to modify HTTP::Daemon to support HTTPS (which shouldn't be
that hard since IO::Socket::SSL is almost a dropin replacement for
IO::Socket::INET).

Let me know if you need further help.

Mark.

SOAP::Lite and HTTPS daemons

Note that I've created a patch for HTTP::Daemon and filed a bug to
have it applied. This patch implements support for HTTPS daemons.

http://rt.cpan.org/NoAuth/Bug.html?id=2187

(Please read the entire bug if you plan to use this. I'm pretty poor
at complete testing before hitting "submit".)
