- I started using Cocoon with version 2.0 alpha at a company called [Virbus
AG|http-link-to-www.virbus.de] - it's already a long time ago. It was my first real programming
experience after some years of Basic and Turbo Pascal in school. I had to start with XSLT, I overcame it and
now I help other people on [Mulberry Tech XSL
list|http-link-to-www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list/] (temporarily inactive) or on [Cocoon
users mailing list|http-link-to-xml.apache.org/cocoon/mail-lists.html] especially with their
XSL problems.

- Since December 2003 I have been working for a new company called [eWerk|http-link-to-www.ewerk.com].
They hired me and a second developer from Virbus AG (that has been closed), they overtook the both
remaining Cocoon projects mentioned above and we work now on a new project - again Cocoon based, using
[Cocoon Forms|Woody] and probably [OJB|OJBBlock]. I therefore also dive more and more into Java development.

howto-explore-samples:

I downloaded:
cocoon-2.1.5-src.zip
Unzipped it into:
C:\jakarta\cocoon\
Followed the Install.txt instructions (verifying JAVA_HOME, running build at a cmd prompt).
The build failed because there was no java directory in the path:
C:\jakarta\cocoon\cocoon-2.1.5\src\blocks\stx\
I manually added the java directory and re-executed the build file again and was successful.

Change Log:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 <at>  <at>  -17,20 +17,20  <at>  <at>

 This is only applicable for converting a 2.0.x directory to the 'cocoon-2.0' module. Here we have an extra
requirement: strip the 'branch' indicator from every file's {{{CVS/Entries}}} entry:

-{{{
-/changes.xml/1.138.2.87/Wed Feb 19 00:36:46 2003//Tcocoon_2_0_3_branch
-/todo.xml/1.28.2.8/Wed Feb 19 00:36:46 2003//Tcocoon_2_0_3_branch
-/build.xml/1.196.2.28/Sat Mar  8 06:57:22 2003//Tcocoon_2_0_3_branch
+{{{
+/changes.xml/1.138.2.87/Wed Feb 19 00:36:46 2003//Tcocoon_2_0_3_branch
+/todo.xml/1.28.2.8/Wed Feb 19 00:36:46 2003//Tcocoon_2_0_3_branch
+/build.xml/1.196.2.28/Sat Mar  8 06:57:22 2003//Tcocoon_2_0_3_branch
 }}}

 This can be done with another 'find' command:
-{{find . -name "CVS" -type d -exec perl -i -pe 's:/Tcocoon_2_0_3_branch$:/:g' {}/Entries \;}}
+{{{find . -name "CVS" -type d -exec perl -i -pe 's:/Tcocoon_2_0_3_branch$:/:g' {}/Entries \;}}}

 ==  Delete CVS/Tag (cocoon-2.0) ==

 Also only applicable for converting to 'cocoon-2.0' module.

-Each {{{CVS}}} directory will have a {{{CVS/Tag}}} file, containing the directory tag
('cocoon_2_0_3_branch'). These should simply be deleted with something like {{find . -name "CVS" -type
d -exec rm {}/Tag \;}}
+Each {{{CVS}}} directory will have a {{{CVS/Tag}}} file, containing the directory tag
('cocoon_2_0_3_branch'). These should simply be deleted with something like {{{find . -name "CVS"
-type d -exec rm {}/Tag \;}}}

 [[BR]]
 You can now do a {{{cvs update}}} on these repositories, and hopefully they should update. For some reason,
CVS insists on updating (U) each file, but even so, this is faster than a full checkout.

 Please keep these notes concise. The idea of this page is to tell the overall story of this !FirstFriday and
not the details.

- *  Close the Wiki at cocoondev.org
- * Run Upayavira's conversion script and populate our new wiki [http://wiki.apache.org/cocoon/]

+
+== To do ==
+ * Start editing the new wiki ... go to UserPreferences, create yourself an account, log in, and you will be
able to edit.
+ * Set up Front pages and the associated stuff.
+ * Add better redirect from cocoondev.org ... gianugo suggested http://www.tuckey.org/urlrewrite/
