Call for nominations: CellML editorial board

We would like to invite nominations for the CellML editorial board. This
board will be responsible for making decisions about CellML language
design and specifications. Members should be willing to spend the time
required to assess any proposed changes, and be involved in discussions
and practical activities around implementing these changes. The
existence of this board as an elected group is not only important for
the future development of the CellML standard, but is a requirement for
membership of COMBINE.

Eligibility for nomination is simply membership of the CellML discussion
mailing list. You may nominate yourself or others.

Please email your nominations to me:

<mailto:dj.cowan@...?subject=Nomination%20for%20CellML%20editorial%20board>.

If a nominee accepts nomination, they may also send me some text which
will be included with their name on any voting form.

A voting system will be decided later, partly determined by the number
of nominations received.

Cheers,
Dougal

Hi Maxwell,

Thank you for your interest in the CellML Model Repository. While we currently don't have a formalized web
service, we do provide a list of IDs to the workspaces (http://models.cellml.org/workspace) which can
be found at http://models.cellml.org/workspace/list_txt. Basically you can append the ids listed
with the path.

To acquire the models, we recommend the usage of a Mercurial client, which can be acquired from
http://mercurial.selenic.com/. You can then use some kind of shell scripting to loop through that list
and clone each workspace onto your local machine.

This is an example shell script:

#!/bin/sh

WS_ROOT=https://models.cellml.org/workspace
LIST=list_txt
for WORKSPACE in `wget --no-check-certificate -q -O - $WS_ROOT/$LIST`; do
  if [ -d $WORKSPACE ]; then
    echo $WORKSPACE exists.  Checking updates.
    hg pull -R $WORKSPACE
    hg up -R $WORKSPACE -C
  else
    echo $WORKSPACE does not exist. Cloning.

Re: ABI CellML Meeting Minutes, 10th August, 2011

Hi,

Having just read the minutes of this week's CellML meeting, I would like to
clarify the situation with regards to the TeLICeMS grammar...

I wrote the initial OpenCell's COR view more than a year ago. From there,
Andrew (I wasn't involved in that decision) decided to implement the
TeLICeMS service based on my code. So, yes, unless Andrew drastically
changed the grammar I used for the then OpenCell's COR view, it should be
very similar to the one used in TeLICeMs.

However, I have nothing and had nothing to do with the current
minus/negative solution. As it happens, I am against it (see
https://tracker.physiomeproject.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2990). To me, it goes
against what I was trying to do with OpenCell's COR view, i.e. make it as
simple as possible for a user to edit a CellML file and leave it to the
software to decide how to serialise a model in CellML.
