Re: [Skate] New file uploaded to Speed_skating

It's not possible to upload the file as an Excel-file.
It will be bigger as 5mb.
Only files smaller <5mb can be uploaded to the Yahoo-group Speed_skating@...

If you want to check the PB's you can go to:
http://www.speedskatingbase.eu/index.php?cat=home
The exact same data from this file is in the rar-file as an excel doc.
Once in 2 weeks I upload the complete file, 22400 skaters and growing, for the yahoogroup.

Search on the internet for a unrar programm thats the only thing you can do.
I'm sorry but there is no other way to get the file as an Excel-file.

Re: [Skate] The new Norwegian regime

Very nice to see that Dag Erik Kleven is selected after his good times this weekend. He really deserved it. I
hope he can continue his good races so far this season overseas now. When in good shape and when he gets the
chance to show that shape he's the best sprinter in Norway.

Also nice that such a large group is selected for Calgary/SLC. I'm only wondering what they will do on the 5k
with Bøkko, Haugli, Grødum, Christiansen, Ervik, v/d Horst, Borgersen as possible skaters. Will they
first pick 5 for Calgary and change one or two when they don't skate good or will they let them skate all
regardless results and so give everyone a chance to proof themselves on the fast ice

Some people argue that this is Scenario Z: he is being fired because
he had been seen as not quite good enough but they didn't have a
legal reason to fire him without a huge compensation until now.

From the discussion I have seen it seems to be the case that the

Perhaps it's as simple as the NSF (and the Norwegian Sports Association, Olympic Committee etc) got a
'moral panic' over PM's bad mouth. But of so, there's every reason to doubt the NSF Board's judgement.

The real scandal here is that the NSF renewed PM's contract at a point when it was obvious that he not just had
created a lot of conflicts and scared several skaters out of his team and even off the ice, but also didn't
deliver the results Norwegian speed skating needs...

[Skate] Another Norwegian scandal...

The speed skating pub 'Siste Indre' at Hamar is accused of 'cultural vandalism' after moving to a new place.

One wall in the old pub was covered by the autographs of visiting skaters. When moving, the pub owners
destroyed the original autographs after making copies for the new pub.

Skaters as well as cultural heritage authorities are 'shocked', and the case will probably end in court.
