I have said it before and I will repeat it now, I have raced with SRF's
once. Never again, as someone else said, they either can't see our cars or
don't care.  I was nearly driven off the track by one, and only a liberal
application of brakes saved me from ???

SRF's should not be grouped with any of the formula cars.  In case no one
has noticed, they have fenders.

I refuse to race in a group that has SRF's in it.  If I can not get the
grouping changed, I will pack up and go home.

Richard,
Don't leave the national?race - we need the numbers.? Instead, file a $50 protest (get other drivers to
contribute at least some of?the money) against this grouping as unsafe.? Now, you are on record and your
protest must be dealt with by the GCR.

Test Day - National Race <at> GingerMan

If you are interested in some cheap test and tune for  the National at 
GingerMan, and car set up for the RUNOFFS, read this  and take advantage.  Hope to 
see some of you at the race.

In an effort to make the National Race weekend at GingerMan on August  
25-26th(entry forms available at www.sbrscca.org) as cost-effective as possible,  
South Bend Region has worked out a deal for you to do some testing at a very  
affordable price. Here are the details:

When: Friday August 24th from  5:30-8:30 pm

Where: GingerMan Raceway, South Haven, MI

Who: All  racers competing in the National on Aug. 25-26th

Cost: $40. We'll run  rain or shine. This amount is non-refundable unless the 
track must be shut down.  In other words, we're still gonna run if it rains. 

Run Groups: Three run  groups. Each group gets 20 minutes of track time per 
hour, for a total of 60  minutes of track time. Depending on who is interested, 
I envision something like  this: Run Group I-Open wheel cars; SRF, Run Group 
II-Slower Closed Wheel Cars;  Group III-Faster Closed Wheel Cars. 

Maximum # of cars: 8 per group(24  total)

Minimum # of cars: 15. If we don't get at least 15 cars, the cost  will be $60

Are you not aware of the huge rear end collision where a SRF just about totaled a F500 at the Daytona
National?? Here are the major reasons SRF's should NOT be placed in with F5's:
1. Twice the weight and cannot brake as quickly as a F5 so when it hits a F5 the law of physics says that the F5 is
going to get hurt bad.
2. SRF cannot corner or accelerate as fast as a F5.
3. When a F5 is behind or next to a SRF the F5 is BELOW the sight level of the SRF - this is attested to by many SRF
drivers over the years.
4. SRF's have brake lights and formula cars do NOT.
If the SRF's are allowed to stay in the same group, it will become a question of WHEN a deadly collision
occurs.? Our high RR insurance will go sky high!

RR alignment

I broke the rod end that attaches the upper a-arm to the upright last 
weekend - photos that my crew guy took are on a forum at

Since I can't take "before" measurements of the left side when I 
replace all the rod ends, I need some alignment specs for a KBS Mk 5 
for road racing.
