I didn't see a specific section for aero discussions, is there one?

Where would we go on it to see pictures if John or anyone posts any?

It is true that the Vees sit a lot higher than us, however, if you lower
the rear of a Vee, you end up with more negative camber and most of them
have too much now , sitting up high.

In my opinion, the SV guys must first unite and agree with themselves on

maybe 3 different proposals ... and quickly. The biggest problem is that

many of them I've spoken with don't want to have to spend any money to 
go faster. The second problem is that many of them feel it's a power 
problem (IMO far from the truth).

I'll go out on a limb here and point out a few things that I observed at

nats ...
lots of vees that sit very high off the ground
no 2 driver vees (a big issue this year)
Scott Nardin (the leading Vee) tried a new tire setup on the first day 
that didn't work. His 2nd day performance wasn't bad when he reverted 
back to his known good setup.

We should try to work with the Vee guys. First they must come to some 
kind of consensus, second they have to realize that it will cost some 
money, and third (IMO) motor ain't it.

Are the Vees limited on the gearsets for their transaxles? If so opening

up gearing rules might help.

Having run 13 Nats in the last 15 years, here is my take. You could do
just fine on the concrete with old tires, because of the grippy surface.
I am living proof that it is not the case with our new slippery asphalt.
I ran at hpt twice this year before Nats with the old tires and didnt do
too terrible, but with the cool weather that we had this year for Nats,
old tires killed me. My first run the 2nd day, I dnf's 2 times on the
same run. I guess it would have helped for a 85 degree day with the sun
beating down on the asphalt, or a tire warmer. I had neither at this
years Nats.

ps... they are gonna have to do something with the spectator area for
the east course for next year! It held about 10 people.

lbs.  :-P

And yes we ran a 494.

I don't know anything about what was or was not in it, and didn't know that 
I needed to look for a problem in that case area until Les gave me an engine 
manual a month or two ago. I had been looking for signs of external leaks in 
the general area. I went and checked it and found that it took a lot more 
oil than I thought a small case like that should. So, I guess I know where 
my problem is. Burnt crank seal. Live and learn.

Comet clutch question

Just looked at a Dennis Kirk catalog for the first time in a while and noticed a Comet 108 model that looks like
it is set up for our Rotax engines (correct taper) and has bosses for mounting a stock Rotax ring gear.  The
part number is 219507A.

  Does anyone have experience with this model #?  If the specs are as advertised, it sure would be easier than
the last time I bought a 108 about 3 years ago - the taper had to be machined and the bosses had to be re-drilled
to take the Rotax 494 ring gear.

This must sound weird. I just want to see what Hoosier charges now for these 
to answer the question for the guy who is is interested in my car.

I haven't bought any in along time.  Still using tires from the 2 sets I won 
in 2003.
