KBS?

What, if anything, does KBS stand for? Just wondering.

RE: KBS?

Mike Kerns was (and maybe still is) the owner of KBS Engineering in Fontana,
CA and was the designer/constructor of the KBS series of cars.

RE: midohio changes

Somewhat ironic that Mid-Ohio is improving the facility after the
Runoff's moved to Heartland. However, to compete with some of the newer
facilities that have come into existence over the past decade Mid-Ohio
either had to improve itself or risk losing the pro events that bring in
the revenue.

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but Mid-Ohio and the surrounding
area did their best to promote SCCA and the Runoff's as a 'must see'
event. (I know local businesses sometimes did their best to gouge money
from us, but in a manner of speaking that just confirmed the Runoff's
being a draw, just like the gouging that takes place at Daytona for the
500 and other tracks for their featured events.)

I wish I could find the Butcher that Richland County uses to provide
pork chops for the Monday evening parties. Mid-Ohio was a quantum leap
improvement over what the Runoff's were at Road Atlanta, if Heartland
Park makes the same level of improvement over Mid-Ohio the Runoff's
should really be something.

Chuck

Miller Meats 419-756-1569 best stuff in Richland County.

I hope evryone is ready for sat viewing of the race. It should be a lot of
fun to see from the outside and hopefully we get some good press. The Speed
folks seem to have an affinity for our little cars. Be careful of the
"dominance" of the Rakovon, he might come through the screen with the unfair
advantage. I'm in your court Jay....it sucks.

RE: midohio changes

I doubt they are making the changes for SCCA racing.

More than likely, Grand-AM/Rolex, IRL and the American Le Mans series
are dictating the needed changes. Each sancitoning body has certain
standards they try to achieve. When the IRL started running at
Richmond, we made changes to the track for safety reasons.

What KBS Stands For

Mike Keirns told me back in the mid 1980's that KBS was the initials of the first name of their three children.
Unfortunately, Mike retired and turned KBS over to one of his sons (for which Mike named the company) who
promptly let the business go to hell and it is now gone.
