Looking for info on F500 car builders

I am new to this forum, and interested in learning more about the
manufacturers/builders who make F500 cars for sale.  I see names like
KBS, Red Devil, and others, but I cannot find anything about these
manufacturers on the web.  Where can I find more about these, and other
F500 builders?  Thank you for your help.

Bob,
Brian Novak wrote this years ago.  Most still applies.  There have been new
additions to the list, but most of the players are still the same.  You
won't find very elaborate web pages for F500 builders.  Most do this as a
passion, not a full time job.  You will get the best advice talking to
owners and people on this list.  Find a car in your price range, sit in it
and see if it is comfortable.  Looking at the results of the runoffs race
and qualifying, most builders are still represented at the sharp end of the
grid.

I'm currently putting together a website for QRE.  The initial phase should be ready for public consumption
in the next week or two but it will be fairly basic.  We do have plans to expand the site to include a full parts
catalog, FAQ, and more as time permits.

 Bob, switching from enduro karts???  I don't blame you, I think the F500's are cheaper to run than the 125's or
the 250's....
 Theres' only really 2 choices, QRE Mike Quadrinni in New York, or Novakar Jay Novak in the Detroit area.
 How many years in a row has the KBS or the QRE won the run offs???

Good to hear from you.  Yes, I am looking at the F500 cars.  Looks like
a fun, fast ride.  I think you are right about the overall cost of an
F500 comparing favorably to the 125s and 250s.

I appreciate your message.  I was wondering about the various builders,
and I had noticed which cars won the Runoffs for the past several years.
Mike Quadrinni is nearby in Mamaroneck, NY (about a 2 hour drive for
me).  With your recommendation, I think I will go see him this fall.

Do you have an F500 car?

Bob,

If you look at the results of the Runoffs, you'll see why many of us disagree with Chris's assessment.  All the
current manufacturers make great cars, and with the right driver and prep, any of the current models could
win the Runoffs.

My personal preference is Red Devil.  For the performance, manufacturer support, and overall cost of
keeping the car on the track, I don't think you could beat Red Devil.  Don Hanley has been making these cars
for 20+ years, and he is always willing to help.  You can call him at 406-494-8245.

Best of luck and welcome to the class!  Even though we all have our opinions and don't always agree, you won't
find a better group of people to race with.

Wow... Wheel to wheel contact to the extreme

I would never have thought that touching wheels could launch an a formula 
car this high.  It's like from that scene in the movie Freejack where Emilo 
Estevez get's launched into the bridge.

Haven't seen the clip....however, in my first year or two of racing at Summit Point, Chris Berns (Kamikaze
Wild Child - always wore a 'Rising Sun' head band) touched wheels front/back with someone entering Turn 1
at the start of the race.....when I went underneath Chris his car was about 12 feet in the air .... upside
down....somehow it continued it's flip and landed back on it's wheels...too damaged to continue the
race, but fortunately no injuries to the driver.

There is a tremendous amount of 'launching power' with sticky race tires meeting in counter rotating
directions....a function of speed and the amount of tire that actually touches.
