KBS Front Suspension Help

KBS Owners:

I am rebuilding the front suspension of my MK5.  Are there 2 spacers on the front uprights?  One below the lower control arm and one above?  Or just one below?  Please look at this link and comment.  thanks

Jeff

Re: KBS Front Suspension Help

The washers shown are for high angularity. one goes on top and one on the bottom. The narrow side next to the mono ball.

RE: OT...Monster Garage

Finally got to see it tonight....I would be surprised if they put out 140hp
after the pipe modifications....I've seen some BAD looking pipes in my life,
but looking at how those pipes were cut and pasted I'd be amazed if those
engines were actually putting out over 100hp.....probably would have been
easier to cobble a Y manifold and use a single pipe.

I saw it ... it was pretty cool.
I was surprised to see that a stock 800cc put out 140hp. It was also
interesting to see them fit 4 pipes in that thing.

rotax wiring

does anyone out there have a wiring diagram handy? i am putting the engine
into the car and need to figure out the rotax vs amw wiring. i have taken out
the coil and cdi but am wondering if the voltage regulator is needed. second
i need to know how the ignition switch works (how to stop the engine).

if anyone can help, it would be appreciated.

thanks
jim

Re: rotax wiring

The 2 yellow wires on the rotax are for thr charging system. The generate an
AC current which plugs into the voltage regulator. The black wire with the
white stripe is for the kill switch, you ground this to shut the engine off.
It can also be used to drive your tach..............it puts out aproximately
65 volts a/c.This is a problem if you are using a mychron 3 automotive
instrument. It has a high and a low voltage signal wire. Low is for 0 to 20
volts and high is for 100 volts an up....................... The brown wire
is for ground, this is important if your engine is mounted in rubber. I do
not have a wiring diagram to send, this should be helpful.

I am in need of a aaen or equivelant Y-pipe for a rotax. If anyone has a

Re: KBS Front Suspension Help

Jeff

You have the one above the rod end upside down, but it does belong there.
The one under the rod end is correct. If you haven't already, replace the
cheap plastic spherical with a shock eye.

Subject: [F500] Measurements

I'm rebuilding my KBS Mk7 because I bent stuff.  Would some one who has access to a chassis in good working order please measure the length of the Panhard bar and eMail the length to me.  I need to replace mine (the one I have has two serious kinks in it).  While you're out there how about measuring the suspension links, too.  I need the links without the rod ends (i.e., just the link itself).  I think I know the answers but, just to be on the safe side.........

Thanks in advance.

Off Topic - F1

Has there been any announcement yet as to who will be televising the Australian GP that is scheduled for Mar. 9.
Need to find the station and times to program the VCR since I'll be playing at Roebling Road that weekend!

I wish Bernie could conclude this exercise in time for the 'winning' network to do a little promotion!
