[sci.med.imaging 341] [Research Internship] Intuitive Surgical Inc.

[Intuitive Surgical Research Intern]

Do you want to work on a computer vision project that potentially
improves the lives of millions? Intuitive Surgical has an immediate
opening for internship in the area of computer vision. We are seeking
a talented individual to participate cutting edge research and
development in using computer vision to assist surgical navigation.
Expected contributions include concept formation, fast algorithm
prototyping /evaluation iterations, solution ranking, implementation
of product quality software modules and documentation.

Requirements:
• A passion for working with a high energy team to develop
technologies aimed at improving the
lives of millions of people.
• Advanced MS or PhD students in Computer Science or Electrical
Engineering preferred. Other
exceptional candidates will also be considered.
• Solid knowledge in model‐based computer vision (3d rendering, image
matching, camera pose
estimation), visual object tracking, image search, sensor fusion,
volumetric medical imaging and
probabilistic analysis. Hands‐on experience in one or more of these
areas is strongly preferred.
• Strong programming skill with C/C++ and Matlab and familiarity with
OpenCV and OpenGL.
• Good knowledge of computer‐vision related hardware (camera hardware,
graphics accelerators,
drivers, and etc).
• Ability to perform fast prototyping and testing iterations and
