Request for translation: File metadata cleanup drive pages

Hello again,

Some of you have already seen this via translation notifications, but
in case you haven't:

I'm launching an initiative to clean up file information pages across
Wikimedia wikis. In order to reach out to the communities in their
native language, I'd like to ask for your help to translate a few
pages.

The main page is this how-to:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/File_metadata_cleanup_drive/How_to_fix_metadata

Direct translation link:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Translate&group=page-File+metadata+cleanup+drive%2FHow+to+fix+metadata&action=page&filter=%21translated

There are also two other shorter pages:

The project presentation:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/File_metadata_cleanup_drive

Direct translation link:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Translate&group=page-File+metadata+cleanup+drive&action=page&filter=%21translated

And the template at the top of the pages:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:File_metadata_cleanup_header

Direct translation link:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Translate&group=page-Template%3AFile+metadata+cleanup+header&action=page&filter=

Ready for early translation: Tech News #43 (2014)

Greetings,

The latest tech newsletter is ready for early translation:

I'm planning to send the newsletter on Monday morning (UTC), as usual.
The existing translations will be posted on the wikis in that
language.

There may be a few more edits by tomorrow, but the existing content
should generally remain fairly stable. I'll let you know tomorrow in
any case.

Let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns. As
always, I appreciate your help and feedback.

Thanks!

Ready for translation: VisualEditor News #8 (2014)

Hi all,
since we received several related community requests, I'm glad to announce that the monthly VisualEditor newsletters will be translatable from now on.

Current issue:

Direct translation link:

This will be delivered to the people who already signed up in the past months (please sign up! [1]) in addition to a list of relevant pages which includes at a minimum all the Wikipedias where VisualEditor is already the default editor [2]. I plan to send it at the latest on Monday, morning time for Europe.

(Please notice this issue will be a bit exceptional in that it covers two months of updates instead of one, and it slightly overlaps with the days translators usually dedicate to Tech News-related work.)

Special thanks to Whatamidoing (WMF) for providing the contents, to James F. for reviewing them, to Guillaume for assisting me in setting the whole mechanism up, and to those who will contribute.

Best,
Elitre (WMF)

send it a few hours earlier than usual but it will still be on Monday.
The existing translations will be posted on the wikis in that
language.

There may be a few more edits by tomorrow, but the existing content

Re: Ready for early translation: Tech News #40 (2014)

Hello,

It seems your edit was saved and it removed all the existing
translation markers:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?diff=10009782

When you marked the page for translation again, it added entirely new
translation markers and undid all the existing translations done
before that. See the example of the French translation:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?diff=10009818

Everyone: The text of the newsletter is now final. There will be no
more changes; you can translate safely. No changes have been made
since yesterday, so depending on when you translated the text, you may
not even have anything left to translate :)

Help us translate fundraising support pages

Dear translators,

I am reaching out to you to kindly ask for your help to translate two of our important support pages needed for fundraising.

We aim to make the donation process as smooth as possible for all donors who generously give to the foundation to support Wikipedia. Having updated support pages in as many languages as possible is crucial in order to reach this goal. This is where we would highly appreciate your help.

The English "problems donating" page needs to be updated in many languages.

The second page is related to recurring donations.

First priority languages are:
-Italian
-French
-Spanish
-German
-Dutch

A warm thank you for your help and support.

Kind regards,

Jessica

Ready for early translation: Tech News #38 (2014)

Greetings,

The latest tech newsletter is ready for early translation:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Tech/News/2014/38

Direct translation link:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Translate&group=page-Tech%2FNews%2F2014%2F38&action=translate&filter=%21translated

I'm planning to send the newsletter on Monday morning (UTC), as usual.
The existing translations will be posted on the wikis in that
language.

I did the French translation and it took me about 12 minutes (I
copy-pasted some translations from the previous newsletter since
suggestions sometimes don't show up due to a problem with translation
memory).

There may be a few more edits by tomorrow, but the existing content
should generally remain fairly stable. I'll let you know tomorrow in
any case.

Let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns. As
always, I appreciate your help and feedback.

Thanks!
