Any good translator sites where we can translate the page for free? I'd
give an opinion but don't read Ahirani. ;)

Re: [Wikimediaindia-l] Creation of new language - Ahirani

Hoi,
At the Incubator the notion of using translations produced by other people
then the ones who are incubating the project is seriously not welcome. At
the Incubator we must see people involved in the language itself. Anything
else defeats the purpose of the Incubator and the language policies. When
there is doubt to the actual size and proficiency of the people involved it
is reason to not allow the language to go to the next level.

Remember, the language policy was created in order to prevent the many dead
projects we still have. The growing number of dead projects almost put a
stop to the creation of any new language projects. It is important to
realise that the policy ensures the vitality of new projects. Translations
from outside the WMF are not welcome at the Incubator.
Thanks,
      Gerard

I think Bob was looking for something to translate the Ahirani pages
into English, so that he could read them and give some feedback about
the quality of those pages.

Re: [Wikimediaindia-l] Creation of new language - Ahirani

Hi Gerard,

I think, bob is trying to ask about translation of ahirani text written on ahirani incubator main page, so
that he can provide me the feedback. but I appreciate your concern and really thank for the point you
mentioned there.

Hi Bob,

Just to explain you about the meaning of text. I have just written some information about ahirani language
like where it is spoken, how many speakers are there etc. Also at the bottom if you see, there are two image
icons which are going to be linked to articles written in ahirani languages on history, geography,
science, maths etc. So all the pages links would go from there. soon I will be creating a section of news on
right side where we will update about daily world news, information, happenings..

Regards,

Deepak Sapkale

Re: [Wikimediaindia-l] Creation of new language - Ahirani

Mr. Sapkale,

Sounds appropriate, with it being a language that isn't well-covered
online. Be sure and include some Wikipedia-related stuff, too; we want
the Ahirani writers and readers to understand this is the free
encyclopedia that anyone can edit. Ideally, the main page ought to
provide enough material on it to get someone at least interested in
editing and provide links to learn how to do this.

Also-- I'm sure you know this, but in case it was an oversight-- the map
ought to use the same language as the wiki. You can probably find some
good image editors over at the graphic design WikiProject on the English
Wikipedia; they can do some pretty amazing work if you tell them exactly
what to do.

Hope that helps,
Bob
