Insults at Swedish Wikipedia
As suggested by Maveric149 and after much though about if it was worth the trouble I have decided to post here and ask for your suggestions what should be done. There are some other issues (locked and deleted pages, threats et.c.), but I think the issue of the insults is what affects me most, at least for now. I have been called "skitstövel" (bastard), "bråkig typ" (troublemaker), "terrorisera" (terrorise), "paria" (pariah), "pest" (plague), "idiot" (idiot), "en ingen" (a nobody), "någon person från ett sinnesjukhus" (some person from a lunatic asylum), "King Louie" (I think he's refering to the character from Kipling's The Jungle Book), "terrorist" (he usually refers to adding language links as "terrorism"), "apa" (monkey (altough I don't think he's a racist)), "gris" (pig), "som människa och individ finns du inte" (as human and indivudual you don't exist), "Nedkastad i en hink bildar ni tillsammans ingenting annat en än grön sörja, som klibbar och kladdar och ställer till problem" (Thrown in a bucket you make no more than a green goo that messes up and causes problem) and he finishes it off with adding that "who cares is stinking goo have feelings". Actually I do have feelings (and I'm not a stinking goo either, by the way) and since this has been going on for a couple of weeks now it starts to get to me. -- -- May the chunty be with you...

Re: Insults at Swedish Wikipedia
Jimbo: > I think it is going to be necessary to ban this person. Such behavior > is completely unreasonable. Staffan, I support you completely on this > point, even though I have no idea what is going on more generally. I would hope that that wouldn't be necessary. He is a valued contributor and he has done much for the Swedish Wikipedia, perhaps more than anyone else. It's obvious that I can't persuade him to stop, but that doesn't mean it's impossible. In all honesty I must say that I'm not always the easiest person to get along with and I'm not afraid to voice my opinion, but you can't have an intelligent conversation with somebody that just uses insults.

moved to Rotterdam
Hey, I usually don't use this list for personal items, but I just moved to Rotterdam and I looked in the list of Wikipedians in the English version and noticed that there is no one from the Netherlands nor Holland are there. I'd be interested in meeting local Wikipedians. I'm volunteering at the TEJO (The World Organization of Young Esperantists) office at Nieuwe Binnenweg 176. Thanks, Chuck ===== I'm in Germany! Re: Intlwiki-l digest, Vol 1 #295 - 5 msgs
Since I permanently interupted the naziwar on the Swedish wikipedia, and came a target for Staffan it has been more or less impossible to contribute anyway. If Staffan is not banned, or if you bann me results in the same thing, I cant write anymore there, and have to find a new place again. I started with full power there at the 21 of november, and held speed until 12 of december when Staffan and the other guy misused the wikipedia in their editing war. So, as things are, the difference between banning me, Sven, and letting Staffan terrorize other people in peace, results in the same thing, I cant work there anymore. I had a lot of fun with you all and its not so bad, we brought (within one month) the Swedish wikipedia from 265 to over 3000 articles until Staffan started his revange. As long as rules dont prevent Internet trolls from destrying this project there will always be alot of agression, and a lot of "bad words" I belive. My opinion is that its better to create a landshape where rules limits peoples possibility to troll others, preventing personal disputes and agression. A wikisystem is to fragile and vulnerable in terms of working platform, if everything is possible, the freedom can always be misused by [[X]]s whos prime ambition is to locate persons who they can upset, a behaviour they probably fineshaped throughout the years on the Internet. As for myself, when I sit fully concentrated with a working project, (after terror since 12 of december) I do explode when the troll manage to mix into my work in some way, so feel free to ban me, because my output since this hobby of Staffan brought me into such a bad mood, caused such a dropdown in my writing that its below an average of 50 articles a day, and really doesnt count very much anymore. I give you all freedom to copy the rest of apr 1000 articles at susning into sw.wikipedia. And I can tell you all, I wont change in this matter, I will always call a bad guy a bad guy when they put their effort in making trouble with you, misusing a public place. And my opinion is that normal persons need, and should get, protection against terrorism regardless where, how much, and why. - Dan Koehl > > Von: intlwiki-l-request@... > Datum: 2003/01/04 Sa PM 01:00:02 GMT+01:00(Continue reading)

I don't know where you saw 'no one from the Netherlands nor Holland', but at http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedians/The_Netherlands there's a list with 10 of them. Alternatively, you could try checking it out at the Dutch language Wikipedia. Andre Engels
