Re: Living Person Task Force is starting up

I'm sorry but I will not participate, as I am unwilling to use a
process like IRC. The discussion should be on-wiki,.

Re: Living Person Task Force is starting up

DGG, IRC is but one of the communication means being utilized. Further, this
is a cross-project, Foundation-led task group.

Perhaps you might wish to review the summary of the preliminary work group,
and read the transcripts as they become available over the coming weeks, and
provide your opinion on the Strategy Wiki, where this particular task force
is being hosted.

Then the original message should perhaps have been made on
Foundation-l as well. Here it is:

Hey, folks.

The Living Person task force should get rolling mid-week, we're finalizing
the core and last plans (<

We hope to hold weekly public meetings on IRC with the entire Wikimedia
community, and we will be publishing the logs on strategy.

I'm tossing together an informal "what do you care to see?" meeting at 3:00
UTC, 1 Feb, six hours from this post. I'll be keeping this list updated
with meeting times, it should be at that time weekly I think. That's open

Re: Related places tool

Looks great! I believe there is something similar already in use for
categories? You can click to get all co-ordinate marked articles in a
category showing up on a map. Now I just need to find a category where
that is in use...

Here is an example:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Capitals_in_Europe

Appears to be the kml export tool by para?

Seem to be more options at this template:

Learned Hand Article

Congratulations to all who put together the Learned Hand article
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Learned_Hand). From the Article through its
Talk Pages - an excellent example of true collaboration. A great read!

Looking at the references one gets the impression that 'Gunther's'
book has had all its content poured onto a wiki.

Gunther's work does seem to be at the core of, at least, the introspective
parts of the article. And Gunther's book is also an excellent (and long)
read.

Strategic Planning Office Hours

Hi everyone,

The next strategic planning office hours are:

Wednesday, 04:00-05:00 UTC, which is:
-Tuesday (8-9pm PST)
-Tuesday (11pm-12am EST)

There has been a lot of tremendous work on the strategy wiki the past
few months, and Task Forces are finishing up their work.
Office hours will be a great opportunity to discuss the work that's
happened as well as the work to come.

As always, you can access the chat by going to
https://webchat.freenode.net and filling in a username and the channel
name (#wikimedia-strategy). You may be prompted to click through a
security warning. It's fine. More details at:

http://strategy.wikimedia.org/wiki/IRC_office_hours

Thanks! Hope to see many of you there.

Re: Learned Hand Article

Gunther's book is huge. So, although the biographical part of the article
depends on Gunther, it represents only a tiny fraction of his content.

Re: Learned Hand Article

This article has already been the mainpage FA, but if anyone thinks there
should be more content added sourced elsewhere, he or she should feel free.
I've been meaning to do it myself, with some books I have here, whenever the
ArbCom has a quiet week (so wish me luck on that one).
