Título: "Analysis of Conforming Adaptive Finite Elements"

Computer-aided modeling is an indispensable tool in science and
engineering. In many cases the underlying model is a partial
differential equation. With the development of high technology the
problems under consideration have become more and more complex. A
discretization then leads to a high dimensional linear or non-linear
system that has to be solved fast. This task can for instance be
tackled by parallelization. Another possibility is to use computer
resources more efficiently by employing adaptive methods and thus
reducing the dimension of the discrete system. In fact, only a good
adaptive method allows to use computer resources in an optimal way.
Adaptive finite elements are successfully used since the 1970th. The
typical adaptive iteration is a loop of the form
SOLVE --> ESTIMATE --> MARK --> REFINE.
Traditional a posteriori error analysis was mainly concerned with the
step ESTIMATE by deriving computable error bounds for the true error.
During the last years there is an increasing interest in proving

Deadline Extension for Abstracts (20 March) - Symposium on VIBRATION AND STRUCTURAL ACOUSTICS ANALYSIS - IRF2009 (3rd Call for Papers)

DEADLINE EXTENSION FOR ABSTRACTS - 20th March 2009

3rd Call for Papers: Symposium on VIBRATION AND STRUCTURAL ACOUSTICS
ANALYSIS - IRF'2009

In response to many request from individuals interested in contributing
to IRF'2009, the conference co-chairs have decided to anounce a new deadline
for Abstract Submission which has been extended to 20th March 2009.

The organization is also very pleased to anounce that the response to
the Call for Abstracts has been overwelming. So far more than 240 Abstracts
from 25 different nations have been received covering all areas of the
conference and more than 20 Abstracts have been submitted to the Symposium on
Vibration and Structural Acoustics Analysis.

If you have already submitted your contribution, you shortly will be
notified about the acceptance of your paper(s). If not, you are still on
time, and the organization looks forward to receiving a contribution from you
to IRF'2009 in July 2009 in Porto to what promises to be a great event.

We would appreciate if you could distribute this information by your
colleagues and co-workers.

      (Apologies for cross- and multiple-postings)

      Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee we have the pleasure to announce a

Eccomas CFD-2010 Conference - Preliminary Announcement

Dear Colleague,

Following the success of the previous editions of the European
Conference on Computational Fluid Dynamics held in Stuttgart (1994),
Athens (1998), Swansea (2001) and Egmond aan Zee (2006), it is our
pleasure to cordially invite you to participate in the Fifth European
Conference on Computational Fluid Dynamics CFD 2010 to be held in
Lisbon, Portugal on June 14-17, 2010.

The meeting is organized under the auspices of the European Community of
Computational Methods in Applied Sciences - ECCOMAS (www.eccomas.org)
and is among the largest and most comprehensive European conferences
devoted to the field of Computational Fluid Dynamics. It offers a unique
opportunity for researchers and students to meet, present their latest
research, exchange ideas and interact with many of the experts in the
field.

CFD 2010 will take place at the National Laboratory of Civil Engineering
- LNEC, near the city center of Lisbon where many hotels are located.

Directions for submitting papers will be posted soon at the conference
web page,
www.eccomas-cfd2010.org .

Important Dates
Deadline for minisymposia proposals: November 30, 2009
Deadline for one page abstract of contributed presentations: November
30, 2009
