Re: Re: jf.com

Y'all ought to buy more JF works so he can afford a
freakin' IDE RAID controller for his server.

Sheesh!

OR, just host the site at an ISP that provides that
level of hardware.

Which show, Sunday Dec 26 WBEZ Chicago?

I didn't recognize the Joe Frank show I heard tonight on WBEZ tonight....and the title wasn't announced.  The Joe Frank site doesn't have the episode list for WBEZ (in fact, it doesn't seem to have an up to date episode list at all, for any of the stations that air it.... WFMU has a playlist in their listing which ends Nov 25.....

The WBEZ site has a link to JowFrank.Com and that's it.....

Anyway     does anybody know which show aired on WBEZ in Chicago, 11 PM Sunday night 12/16?

New Joe Frank compilations

I recently got two of the new Joe Frank "compilation" CDs. "Selections from the Other Side, 1&2 double pack" and "2-Pack: Joe Frank :: Selections Vols 1 and 2" and I have found them really good.  I have a lot of Joe Frank stuff - about 150 hours of stuff I've bought, mostly on cassette from the KCRW days- but these repackagings are really nice. They're great, in fact.

I long for a day when we could see Joe Frank CDs in the rack with Donna Summer, Carpenters, Rod Stewart, etc., next to the check-out at Walgreen's.   I want to live in a world where there's a 30-minute infomercial at 2 AM on the FX Network channel for Joe Frank CDs when the FX programs end....."The Whole Joe Frank CD Collection, just fifteen payments of $19.95.... and if you act now, you'll receive this Proof Set of official Mariana Islands $25 coins  featuring Joe Frank on one side and Larry Block on the other, layered in genuine 24-karat gold....strict limit of twenty sets per customer, please......."

Yeah  that would be a help, wouldn't it?

Some elements of the show that I remember:

Joe's narration, he is at an airport and a woman tells him he has shoes just like her doctor who is at the such-and-such Medical Center, does he know the doctor?  Then the woman goes into some kind of a convulsion.....falling to the floor...  the airplane continues to board...

Joe's narration, describing telling someone that they have terminal lymphoma which has spread....

A woman saying she "loves to love; loves to give more than she receives,"  that "kissing is WONDERFUL...."  This clip is repeated several times.  This is an excerpt from another show, possible Two Babes or Talking About Love, but in the original context it is not repeated that I recall.

Ring any bells for anyone?

Where/how did you get these, and how much did they cost?

Are the "selections" full shows or excerpts?

Re: Re: New Joe Frank compilations

They're from JoeFrank.com prices are listed there they are excerpt- but they are complete "sections" from
various Joe Frank programs. The programs, as you are probably aware, are made of sections which Joe
sometimes re-uses or re-edits from show to show.

San Francisco performance

After listening to Joe Frank's shows for nearly twenty
years, I had to be out of town at the same time of his
one live performance in northern California (November
21). Could someone describe the event? Thanks.
