Zimbabwe, 3396, Radio Zimbabwe, 2330-2345, Heard only
a carrier until about 2352 when music started to fade
in. Unfortunately, it was sporadic at best and only
for a minute or two. By the top of the hour, only the
carrier remained. (Chuck Bolland, June 30 2010)

Zimbabwe, 3396, Radio Zimbabwe, 0020-0050, R. Zimbabwe
revisted. Checked back after the
hour and the audio was fading in a little better, but
still very, very weak. And they were
still presenting music. At 0044 the signal is getting
better. Now it's up to a threshold. Making
some headway here. Decided to drop it at 0050.

Glenn Hauser logs June 29-30, 2010

** CANADA. I had `hoped` the TVDX opening was over as I dispatched my last report, but it lingered, so
continuing, June 29:

1812 UT on 2, Calgary local noon news in UT-6 MDT zone; 1818 promo Global-Calgary, i.e. CICT.

1812 UR on 4, local news; 1815 mention Alberta Health Services, i.e. CFCN Calgary; recheck 1854, local
weather for different cities, M&W anchors; 1859 a bit from Aasif on The Daily Show as stinger. After that,
opening does disappear (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CHINA. Firedrake check June 30 at 1352-1400: nothing except possibly JBA on 13970. Anyhow, note that
Sound of Hope, and consequently Firedrake have been good boys for quite some time keeping out of the 20m
hamband (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. I was resting the afternoon of Tuesday June 29, so turned on RHC`s secret English broadcast of 20-21
UT on 11760. At 2039 the new, leaner, DXers Unlimited started, with Arnie talking about the future of
shortwave, causing me to doze off, but woke in time to note he finished at 2050, total 11 minutes (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** HONDURAS. 3340, haven`t heard HRMI in some weeks, but hymn in Spanish and announcement at 0546 June 30,
could be made out among the summer QRN; much weaker than REE Costa Rica neighbor 3350. Several other
reports of HRMI in mid-June but I think not always on the air this late, or at all (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** INDONESIA. 9526-, VOI, June 30 at 1350, JBA carrier. It sure varies a lot day to day (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. Since the low-VHF band, channels 2-6, was full of TV DX from Mexico, FM too was likely, so switched
to that June 30 at 1551. (It is inconvenient for me logistically to do both at same time.) Started tuning up
the FM band, but no DX signals found until:

CNR jamming against BBC Uzbek at 1300 UT

CHINA/THAILAND/U.K. 17695 BBC Uzbek service loud and clear via
Rampisham-UK 500 kW beast, 1308 UT July 1st, S=9+40dB.

But in contrast via \\ 17515 Zyyi-CYP relay and 15330 Nakhon Sawan-THA,
which both totally covered by CNR Chinese jamming, 17515 S=7-8 fair level at
1305 UT, but very bad mixture of three CNR Chinese, Chinese BUZZ jammer
tone, and BBC Uzbek also, deep fades and fluttery of S=9 ... S=9+10dB
strength.

Lousy condition on 41, 31, 25 mb today.

Re: [dxld] Summer schedules update file.

Mauno, is that true ? Looks very strange.

They prefer more or less 250 or 500 kW beasts in Germany or U.K. ?

Re: [dxld] Summer schedules update file.

Wolfy,

There have been numerous logs of this in DXLD. Would Germany or UK be off-frequency 5954.14 variable?
Republica here followed weeks of music tests like previously heard from ELCOR. And starts as early as
2300.
