Signage at our Walmart

Yesterday, while doing our weekly shopping, I noticed a sign at our Walmart Super Store. Words to the effect
that you could only stay for an 8 hour period and a request to get and post a pass or sticker or something to say
you had checked in with the manager. Sounds reasonable to me. Wonder if any other Walmarts ask you to check
in, I know we suggest checking in with the store manager. Which I think is only practical and reasonable.

We're fulltimers and sometimes park at a client's location, usually
adjacent to their building, like a warehouse or in an office park. It is
obviously with permission and in fact they actively want us there, but even
then, we never leave anything out even when we're there for extended
periods. Why make yourself more obvious than you have to and give someone
a reason to complain, or even notice?

Re: Re: New to group and new to parking at Walmart

A young neighbor of ours moved out of his parents home into an old Dodge van converted into a Class B, he got
himself a job at our local Wal-Mart as a night security person, ONP for about a year while on the job.
Sometimes he parked in front overtly, as if just shopping, sometimes in back by the truck drop off and also
near the service bays, covert, as if waiting for a grease job. So the vehicle parked with the awning and BBQ
out MAY just be an employee.

Manteca, CA NOP

I left for Reno last Friday night and stopped at Manteca, CA Walmart for the night. The store was closed when I
arrived and I spoke to Security who informed me that overnight was no longer allowed. She said that the
store had too many problems with people in cars causing problems and committing crimes including a rape.
She said some people would get out of their cars and sleep on the pavement next to their cars. After talking
to her a few minutes, she told me to go to SaveMart which shares the parking lot. She said their security
doesn't come on duty until 7:00am and it would not be a problem. We stayed in the parking lot in front of
SaveMart toward the street and pulled out before 7:00 that morning. Also, we ended up spending most of our
time in Nevada at Boomtown 7 miles W of Reno. This
 place is RV friendly.

NOP Keene NH

Wanted to warn everyone about an experience we had Sunday, August 30,
2009 with the Walmart in Keene, NH. We had dinner at the Uno Pizza
across the parking lot from Walmart and asked if they knew of a place in
town that allowed overnight parking. The Walmart had badly faded signs
banning overnight parking and we had planned on honoring them. However,
the folks at Uno said that they saw RVs there often and felt like we
could safely park there. So, since we are good members of this group,
we went into Walmart to ask permission. It was 11:00 p.m. and the
front-end manager said that it would be fine, that they were closing for
the night, but to park along the end of the lot. So we did. We put out
our slide over the grass and settled in for a long winter's nap. At
5:45 a.m. a very loud banging began on our front door and bedroom
windows. The cause was the property manager for DEA which owns the
parking lot and he informed us that we had to move---NO Overnight
Parking. Of course, later we laughed at the irony of kicking someone
out of a sound sleep when the sun was blazing to tell them they couldn't
overnight--ludicrous, but he did it nonetheless. He did tell my husband
that there is a place in town that you can stay for a week and no one
will bother you, so you might want to investigate that, but I don't
recommend staying at the Walmart.
