Re: Met Nick (aka nstriglia) from Poultney!

How did I miss this post???

You met my good friend Nick!

Nick is relatively new to VSaabs and bought his first one a couple of years ago as a bare chassis. Well, let me
tell you, he's built a beautiful 96 from the ground up! He also has been a great encouragement to me,
dropping me a line from time to time to make sure I'm doing okay. We travelled together in my 96 (his wasn't
done) last summer to the great VSaab picnic in upstate NY and had a great time. We're talking about going to
the National Convention this summer in his motorhome, so you may see two crazy Vermonters show up. As we
like to say

"I'm from Vermont; I do what I want."

more than happy to help and my gf only lives about 1/2 mile away from you.

1967 Steering Wheel

I have a '67 96 that suffered from rotted section of steering column where the heavy convas material and rivets join together.  Can this be fixed or will it need a new column?
Thanks
Brad

NOS Parts for sale on eBay

I will be listing NOS parts on eBay starting today. They are for 93/95/96. I need this stuff to go to good
homes. I'm sure some of you can help. I need to get rid of some stuff to make room. I also have way too much used
stuff that will be listed cheap.

What's your E-bay 'seller name' so we can find your things?

started clearing out the parts barn

look for bullwinkle_rocky on ebay. Lots of NOS and used. Will be
listing more as time goes on and I dig deeper into the piles of stuff.

Also have what was a good running 1500v4 and smoothcase tranny. Still
attached to each other along with part of the car subframe (cut out)
so the mounts are there as well. Car rusted away from it but motor
and trans were good. Fogged and stored inside but it's been stored a
long time. Still turns by hand well but I'd be worried about soft
parts like valve seals. First person to show up at the house with a
pickup and $500 gets 'em.

Lots of things like used complete brake axle sets, inner drivers, a
saab 99 a/c system (I think complete but if not, close), complete 73
dash including good dash pad, 850 heads and pans, starters,
alternators, generators, F bracket for converting older gen to alt,
heater cores (not in great shape but good as rebuild candidates),
outer door handles, door latch sets, distributors, hoods, a fender or
three, some tailights, hubcaps.

Anyone wants to come out with a truck and make an offer for everything
I'd sell at a great price just to get it all done quick.

Eric

Re: Re: Bushings?

I was just reading that poly bushings needs to be lubricated once a year, to keep them from squeaking and
eventually wearing out.

I've also had the same conversation as Andy relayed with Jack Lawrence, there is no point in going to harder
material, and in fact it puts additional pressure on the steel and could cause it to wear out faster.
