Chip, According to the 2007 Vintage registry, there is a '66 II in NY owned by Mueller, as well as the two '67 II's owned by Burns #55 and Abels #243. #195 got around a bit then, as the current owner found it many years ago in Michigan. Thanks Thor... like I said Nick Wilson did well in the Autocross... I believe his Sonett II is number 97, and there were three other Sonett IIs in the Concours. I believe Steve also ran the Autocross.... Sonett II Awards: 1 Dale Holmes Red 1967 2 Chips Barry Silver 1967 3 Steve Nicholf Yellow 1967 Tom On May 31, 2007, at 5:24 PM, <carlsont@...> wrote: > Click the appropriate thumbnail for a semi-enlargement. > > http://www.saabnet.com/sites/thor/keystone/ > > >

Mueller does not own any Sonett. I talked to him today. Abels has not owned #243 since 1992. Lewis Eig had it and sold it to Dr Mueller-Ott in Germany in 1996. It's stuff like that that drew me to clear lots of this mess up. >#195 got around a bit then, as the current owner found it many years >ago in Michigan. More info please. If it is #195 then the car was owned by Marvin Rosencrantz of Dover, MA until 1980. This is not the longest-needed correction, #147 was found in MA having been sold by the former 'registered' owner in 1979. _________________________________ Cheers- William "Chip" Lamb West of Sweden SAAB Richmond, VA. http://www.wmsbrg.com/sweden/ __________________________________(Continue reading)
If I recall correctly Nick Wilson sent me a picture in 2002-3-4 of his Sonett next to his 911 and both were red, can anyone verify? For some reason I didn't post the Autocross results with the Concours results on our web site so willl need to go check the SOC99 files. Nick's email has been bouncing for some time so haven't had recent contact. But Steve's car is yellow it says below; that leave's Nick for the white one by elimination... unless there were actually 5 sonett IIs at Keystone: 2 red, and one each silver, yellow and white. Or maybe Nick more recently painted his white Sonett II red, to match the 911..... I stop in and see the owner at work every now and again, but the car is in a different location and direction. As soon as I can synch our schedules some weekend to see the car, I'll get the info to you. Bill
More info from the SOC99 Archives...... The M1 class First Place in the Autocross (modified Sonetts, 93, 95 & 96s) was won by Nick Wilson of Colorado Springs in a white Sonett II (guessing car #97 in Thor's photo). Third place in that class was also won by a white Sonett II, driven by Carol Anne Freeman. So......did Nick let Carol Anne drive his car as another entry in that class, or did she have a different white Sonett II?? I'm betting it's the same car, and that there were only a total of 4 Sonett IIs in attendance at Keystone. Unless.......did Doug Morse bring his white Sonett II to Keystone? Probably not. And where is Dale Holmes from? ... his red '67 Sonett II won first place in the Concours.
