I notice that if you get it on you, you're supposed to wash it off with (?sugar) soap. I feel an infinite
regress coming on...

Nah, stone cold sober mate. Any road up, I'm glad we've flushed you out of your burrow.

There was a piece on the Today prog the other morning; they spoke to some of the Occupy Leeds protesters,
then, wanting a right wing Neanderthal response to it, interviewed a selection of councillors from.... Skipton.

And were not disappointed. Highlight for me was when one of them complained that folk with his point of view
had no means of representation; and he's a Tory elected representative.

Take care in the frozen North this winter, won't you.

I began to wonder; I think he was the Town Councillor.

I'm quite happy in my burrow tbh. It's nice and warm and I don't have to keep moving it to get water and empty the
toilet ;-)))
I do keep an eye on this list though just in case boat-dwelling characters (and I use the word advisedly) cast
aspersions. ;-))

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised at anything the local councillors spout as they are, in the main, a
rather 'mixed' ;-)) bunch. You have to be careful to be sure which council it was though, as you have alluded
to in your other post. We have Craven District Council (for whom I have the honour of serving on their
Independent Remuneration Committee, and they weren't keen on the fact that we recommended a reduction in
their expenses recently to show solidarity with council employees and local businessmen who are losing
their jobs and struggling to remain in business) and Skipton Town Council (a lesser body that has some
councillors in common with CDC). CDC is basically governed by the Conservative group with some
independents, and Lib-Dems making up the numbers.

I've no idea. But I use Wickes garage floor paint (which may be the same
kind of stuff as the Ronseal) for decks and bilges. Quick-drying and
hard-wearing.

I've not used it on my roof as it matches the sides, but I'd be entirely
happy to if not for that aesthetic consideration..

Re: Re: is it time

With Christmas coming I hardly have time to look at e-mails or much web related. First its christmas cards
with letters to write, then putting up the decor and then it's time to do jig-saw puzzles and this year we may
try a real 'boys toy' - building a lego excavator with over a thousand parts and four motors to make it work.
Strangely enough this 'for 16 year olds has a load of build reports 'to help them' by grown ups. I loved the
man who spent 9 days putting it together - then when it stopped his 5 year old pointed to a part on the floor he
had missed. Incidentally we find jan van haateren puzzles made by jumbo fun but o those late nights as you
thing 'just one more bit then bed'.

I often post but notice a drop off in interest. I enjoy the travelogs but when we are boating - no computer just
1-3 pages of A4 a day of comments - many of which are rather rude as we chug round. Sometimes I pick out bits
later but don't get feed back so assume little interest. At the moment for example I am reading this years
log and have reached going up th Droitwich sharing with a boat which sported an old lady wearing a lampshade
who kept leaping off to push gates and wind paddles. Put me to shame as I just lent on the tiller and watched
others work. Nice canal but those reed beds are a bit much. Still - be careful - saying this to a local boater
seemed to anoy him as he wanted more. (This reminds of complaining about the narrowing of the S&W by BWs
reeds and trees and being told by some members of Stafford Boat Club that they liked the reeds and wanted
more which made us wonder as the S&W society were very anti reeds.) Still - lack of country
moorings apart - we enjoyed the Droitwich and even found one bankside mooring where we stayed for a couple of
nights though we needed 4 pins due to the passing boaters who, even here were in a great hurry. (Many being
large share boats using their week to try out the canals.)

Over-wintering in Hertford. Got a job in Enfield, so this is quite
convenient. Likely to be cruising the southern waterways for some time now.

We hope to be coming down onto the Thames and then the Lee and stort next
year. Sounds like a definite mini-gig possibility.
Glad your keeping well and employed.
