RE: Water filtration

I use a jug with an inbuilt filter for my drinking water but I've turned
around in the galley too quickly, catching the jug with my elbow (with
the obvious result ....) for the very last time :-(

Are there any, reasonably priced I have to add, 'built-in' water filters
that you can recommend? I have occasionally seen in-line filters,
complete with their own tap, which looked interesting but, typically for
me, when I go out looking, they have all disappeared!

The one advertised in the magazines is very good (having seen the
demonstrations - but if I ever find myself getting water which is
contaminated with red ink I think I'll revert to the bottle) but the
price is horrific :-(

I did see someone watering at Kintbury last year, he had a big, blue,
semi-commercial type filter installed in his filling hose - but I'm not
sure I'd gain anything with my 7 year-old stainless steel tank - and it
only seemed to be a particulate filter anyway.

Any and all suggestions will be gratefully received.

Thanks,

Trevor

Hi Trevor
I installed one of these inline filters from Screwfix with excellent results and the price was very reasonable.

Number[s] One.

This is interesting.
This year we will experience 4 unusual date.......1/1/11,  1/11/11,  11/1/11,  and 11/11/11........
Now take the last 2 digits of the year you were born plus the age you will be this year and it WILL EQUAL TO....
111. Try it.

I don't know but I certainly know a man who does and he has a Lister FR2
so he is sensible as well. He seems to have disappeared off of here, try
Moomin on Canalworld, he will certainly oblige.

Re: Number[s] One.

It only works if you were born in a year in the 20th Century (and are
still alive!)

Assume you were born in year x (as a 2 digit number)
The number of years from that year to the end of the 20th century is
therefore 100 - x
The number of years from the end of the 20th century to today is 11
Your age is therefore 100 - x + 11

The original puzzle says add your age to the year you were born:
100 - x + 11 + x = 110

Next year the answer will be 112 :)

Re: Number[s] One.

HAHAHA Spot the typo *blush*

Last line should read 100 - x + 11 + x = 111
