Poor old Beeky, bad mouthing the mayoral balloon tickets. Should be a 
bit more sensitive.

His former honourship has investigated the complaint as alleged, and 
provided reassurances that all will be well. Beeky for his part, 
currently on the 3rd glass of Fleurie, regrets any implied slur on the 
Dyke administration, in this particular regard.

Hopefully all will be well this summer, though we won't get far if the 
balloon follows the trajectory of the Jessops share price !

Only about half a dozen more posts. I was surprised to see nothing 
regarding Eugene's "appearance" on Radio 2, which I missed. I haven't 
bothered to listen again to last night's Chris Evans show.

What I did hear 2nd hand is that BW think they need more moorings for 
houseboats. All the usual confusion - liveaboard vs residential mooring 
vs houseboat vs cruising boat that one can live on.

Is it really too difficult to grasp ?

email delays

Received the following from Yahoo:

"We want to acknowledge the reports that not all groups are receiving
email. Some of these groups are seeing the posts on their group
archive on the Web, but not receiving them via email. This problem has
been difficult to diagnose, since it is affecting some groups but not
others.

Our engineers have been investigating the root cause since we became
aware of the problem last night. We will continue to work on this and

Harnser's trip report February 07

 Date - 1 March 07
Day - Thursday
Start - Cropredy 1200
End - bottom of Claydon Flight 1330

Just a short day today. First I winded as we had winded last night to
moor so that the gales hammered the front doors and not the back where
we sleep. I just got round and started under the bridge when bang,
something heavy round the prop. This turned out to be a PVC coal sack,
it was round the nut, through the blade and round the shaft, once I
worked out where it was and cut it through with a Stanley knife on the
nut it came away in one piece. Diana said she had seen a bag blow off
one of the liveaboards on the off side and sink, so thank you fellow
boater. We carried on north through some quite strong squalls and finally
winded again just below the Claydon flight where we have stayed for the
rest of the day. As we left a couple of locks the alternator belt
protested a couple of times so I got the tools out and tightened it
slightly this afternoon after we took Magic for a walk and play with a
"frisby" I found in the cut.
