I'm running into problems converting the movie to DVD format. We 
should therefore see if we can hook up a computer to play on the TV.

Movie Suggestion for this Friday

Hi Guys,

I've downloaded a surprisingly unbiased documentary that was made by the
 BBC. It's called "Will Israel Bomb Iran". If you guys want, I can bring
it to the meeting this Friday so that we can watch it.

Movie for Meeting

If anyone is interested, I have a DVD of "Obsession: War on Terror". 

It's a documentary that was aired on Fox News a while ago. The
documentary aims to show how the terrorist atrocities taking place
around the world re not isolated events but are fronts in a global
jihad that is being waged against the West.

If anyone is interested, e-mail me a reminder and I'll bring the DVD
to the meeting tomorrow.

Oh and this time, maybe we should try and make sure all the AV stuff
is sorted out beforehand.

meeting Friday

We will be having a meeting on Friday.  Try to find an article to
discuss at the meeting.  I would really like to start talking about
current events as part of ICAP.  I'll try to submit some articles to
the list tomorrow.  If you see anything concerning the Middle East
that is of interest please submit it as well!             Jenn

exponent ads

has anyone contacted the exponent about ads for Wednesday's event?  If
not then we need to try to get an ad in for perhaps Tuesday and
Wednesday next week.  If someone could run over to the office tomorrow
that would be wonderful.  Please let me know.

Goings On

Attached are the bios for the Israeli speakers coming to campus on
Wed, October 18th.  They will be speaking in two of Prof. Beres'
classes, and then joining us for dinner and discussion at 6:30 and
7:00 pm, respectively.  We will have a flier by Tuesday.
  What we need to do:  get the flier out to the Exponent, the J&C, to
the PSUB movie showings for the 13th and 14th, all over campus, and to
the dorms.
      We also need to submit an event notice to both papers and see if
we can get a reporter to show up and do a story.
     Also SSinfo advertising.
     If anyone can think of any Professors other than Beres who we
should contact and who might be willing to announce this even to the
classes, please let me know.  I will do a search just to see what
other Profs are teaching the Israel and Middle Eastern classes as
well.
               Gill says he can take care of the tasks regarding going
to PSUB and the Exponent.  If anyone else is available or wants to do
any of these things please let me know.

Also, Dan, I will need to to sign the TPF and maybe some other forms
next week, and I may need someone to turn them in for me.  I will let
you know once they are filled out.

meeting Friday night

We are having a meeting Friday night.  We need to talk about who is
going to do what in regards to advertising for the 4 Israelis that are
coming in October.  And other things.  So I'll see you all on Friday
at 6 at Hillel!                      Jenn

meeting Friday

        Hey guys,
   I don't think we really need to have a meeting Friday.  There are a
few things I need to let you know, but there really isn't much in the
way of things that need to be discussed.

First of all we are helping to bring 3 Israelis to campus on October
18th.  As soon as we get more info we need to advertise for this hard.
 At least one of them is going to be focusing on the Israel-Hezbollah
conflict. For this we will need to make fliers, get an ad in the
Exponent, and on the PSUB movie ads.

Second, I have the dates for the Madison Midwest Israel Conference.
It will be October 20-22. The cost is $75 if we want hotel rooms, but
we can get part of this covered by our funds.  In the next week or so
we need to get our Travel Planning Forms and Car Rental stuff taken
care of so we are all ready to go.  We are also going to advertise
this trip to HIllel members, and offer to cover part of their
expenses, up to the first 3 people who ask.  Maybe we can get a couple
of more people involved this way.  If you know of anyone interested
please let them know.  Once I get the details on the speakers I will
pass that along, right now all I know is that there are some big name
Israeli journalist and media people who will be there.  I have their
names but no bios or anything.  Once I get that I will make a flier to
put up at Hillel.

Finally, we are working on potentially getting Einet Wilf to visit
campus early November.  She is the former foreign affairs advisor to
Shimon Peres, and from what I've read seems like she could be amazing.
 Again, once I get more info I will pass it on.  This would be an
event we would want to try to get Jewish Studies and or Political
Science to co-sponsor, but we have enough in our account even if for
some reason we can get no support.

If anyone has anything thing else you feel needs discussed, please
email me, and I can still meet at Hillel tomorrow at 6.  It just
doesn't seem really necessary to have a meeting this week since we are
currently just waiting to get more information about these events
before we can really start in with the advertising and working out the
details.
