n joins the suffixes

"The IEEE has finally approved the 802.11n high-throughput wireless LAN standard. Bruce Kraemer, the long-time chairman of the 802.11n Task Group (part of the 802.11 Working Group, which oversees the WLAN standards), has sent out a notification to a listserv for task group members, which includes a wide range of Wi-Fi chip makers, software developers, and equipment vendors. A press release is available now as well. This process began in 2002."

Site Admin stuff

On going through the wsfii site, I found dozens, literally, of posts made by Aimee Hunk and ugg147, needless to say completely OT. I deleted, in fact, over 50 posts, all (excepting a handful) made this year.

Can someone please access the page and try and post an item (I will delete it if trivial, so don't worry about the content)? I can't figure out whether the site allows anyone to post, or is restricted. I certainly don't have site admin access without the username/password.

Given the spamming, anyone posting is not :-( such a great idea, especially if it has in fact meant :-( :-( that no-one posts.  There is such great stuff happening (check the Village-Telco list, for instance) that it is a shame that appreciations, critiques and suchlike haven't found a home here.

In any case (assuming posting is supposedly restricted), please do mail me some recent stuff for posting, so that the site comes back to life. Or post it yourself.

Finally, if posting is in fact restricted, can anyone guide me how to block these spammers from getting their content into the (wordpress) blog in future?

Deletion of false users on wsfii site

All these usernames look suspicious to me. Actually, there are a couple more I don't recognise, but don't
want to delete without checking first. Does anyone recognise any of these IDs? I will go ahead with
deletion tomorrow, if I don't get any feedback.

Since my last post, another 7 or 8 spam posts were uploaded. Hopefully, once we get rid of these spam 'users'
we can put some fencing in place.

FW: WNDW Indonesia is now the 6th language in print!

FYI:

Wireless Networking in the Developing World (WNDW) is a free book about designing, implementing, and
maintaining low-cost wireless networks.

It's a great book. I highly recommend it. And it's a free PDF! :)
