Message from Dr. Vijay, ENT Surgeon at UK, who is one of the directors of Shravana Children's Deafness Rehabilitation centre at Vijaya Nagar Colony:

We need boys or girls to work as screeners to test for deafness in new born children in hospitals. We need some one with SSC, who can speak Telugu and Hindi. We can offer Rs. 5000 per month but can offer more of they are willing to go to rural areas with our team.

Sri Ramananda Tirtha Rural Institute (srtri.org)

Hi,

Sri Ramananda Tirtha Rural Institute is a very old organization which works under the department of Rural Welfare. They have all kind of courses for rural youth.

Except for Computers, they do not charge fee for any other course. The fee for computer course - Photoshop, DTP, Tally etc., they charge 250 rs. as they give material.

The following are the courses being offered:

1. TV Repair

2. Cell Phone Repair

3. Domestic Wiring (house wiring)

4. All Electric Appliances Repair

5. Solar Cell Making - Knowledge of Photo Voltaic Cells

6. The repair of farm instruments - right from tractors to new age tools

7. Food Processing

8. Garment Making - Different types of stitching, fabric painting etc.,

9. Bag Making

10. Two wheeler/four wheeler repair

RTC employs the students who learn the four wheeler repair. For four wheeler repair, the students learn the basics here. In two wheeler repair, they learn everything. They can even start their own mechanic shed.

They also give them awareness of different govt. schemes, the guidelines for drafting the proposals, information of bank loans etc.,

The courses are of one month to three month duration. The batches are fixed and they run on particular period only. If the students are from outstation and want to stay in a hostel, they have to pay Rs. 700 a month which is very nominal by any means.

They have 64 centers in AP thought not all are as full fledged as this center. If any NGO or an individual comes forward to give the premises and pay for the maintenance, SRTRI provides the infrastructure and faculty.

In fact, Akkineni Nageswara Rao has set up one center in Venkatapuram, his native.

5. And a LPG connection -> 6k ( + approx 2k for additional cylinder)

Mr. Lokesh Nayak founder of this Orphanage, one day he saw a boy who was eating food at roadside dustbins along with dogs.

When he was asked details about him he said I don't have any one I am feeling hungry so I am eating this food. After seeing that pathetic situation he had realized and bring him that boy to his home.

Now they are constructing one proper Shelter to these kinds for that they have Specific requirements are:

1. Ground leveling - around INR 1 Lakh

2 . Bore and pump for water - 25K

3. Gate -> 30k

4. Bathrooms (4) - 25k

5. And a LPG connection -> 6k ( + approx 2k for additional cylinder)

When I was reading today's The Hindu Newspaper a very nice piece of article has come which focusues on empowering girls where SBH under their Vidya Project is adopting Girls who would be provided financial assistance.

Kindly go through the article and you can also share the information so that many girls can get benefitted.

1,410 branches of SBH will adopt a girl child each from government schools

Rukmini's father works as a cobbler near Bible House, Secunderabad, while her mother works as a domestic help.

A class nine student of Government Girls High School, Rashtrapati Road, Rukmini, according to the school teachers, is bright and has a good academic record. Her parents, however, were finding it tough to support her needs. Having a hunched back and stunted growth only made things worse.

SBH Vidya project

On Tuesday, however, the much needed help arrived for the family that was beset with troubles. The State Bank of Hyderabad, R. P. Road branch, as part of the SBH Vidya project, adopted Rukmini. The bank will provide financial support of Rs.5,000 to Rukmini every year till she reaches class 10.

Nature of assistance

The nature of assistance will include school fee, examination fee, study material, uniforms, bicycle, books, tricycle, school projects, sports goods or any such help which will be beneficial to Rukmini. “I am very happy for the support. Now, I will be able to come regularly to school. They have promised to provide support till class 10,” gushes an excited Rukmini, while being surrounded and congratulated by her peers.

The school authorities had nominated Rukmini's name for the scheme. “She is the most deserving student among others,” said headmistress, Sudha.

On Tuesday, the SBH Vidya project was launched at the Government Girls High School by Chaya Ratan, Chief Secretary, Department of Women, Disabled and Senior Citizens, and Bhagavantha Rao, managing director, SBH.

Under the scheme, all 1,410 branches of SBH will adopt a deserving girl student from a local government school.

Every year, the bank officials said that another student, in addition to the existing one, will be included in the Vidya scheme.

“I request SBH to work for girls who are languishing in orphanages in various parts of the State. There is a need for other banks, corporates and institutions to step forward for the cause of girl child,” Chaya Ratan said.

The SBH Vidya project is being implemented with an estimated cost of Rs.75 lakh.

· Bank will provide financial support of Rs.5,000 to the adopted girl child till she reaches class 10

· Every year, bank officials will add one girl child with the existing one to the scheme
