Subject: [tomakeadifference] A case of Aplastic Anaemia
Will share the detailed story later.
My mom is diagnosed with Aplastic Anaemia/Hypoplastic MDS, a rare
disease where the bone marrow fails to function at CMC ( Christian
Medical College), Vellore.
The available treatment options are :
1) Bone Marrow Transplantation: This costs around 10-15 lakhs and
the response rate is around 60%.
2) ATS : This costs around 6 lakhs and a minimum hospitalisation
period of 2 months. The response rate is around 40%.
3) Cyclosporine : This drug costs around rs 10000- 12000 per month.
The minimum trail period is 3 months.
Given the limited finances we are right now going with the third
option. She also needs blood transfusion every fortnight. That cost s
2k a month.
Please help me out in meeting the treatment expenditures. Thanks a
ton for ur support.
