I hate birthdays, anniversaries, most holidays, except for Chinese
New Years which seems to take place every six weeks, and anything
else which marks the passing of the abstract concept some people
still refer to as TIME. SAY! it works for me! If you already told me
your birfday, I forgot it. If you told me your age, I forgot it. If
you told me how old your dog is, i will not forget it.

these are personal house rules and i post them here so folks dont get

[Sansevierias] Happy Birthday, Norma! & Happy New Year

Ida, I was going to try to get my "Happy New Year"s in before it was actually New Years Day for you, but I fell down on the job.

It's handy to have friends that are actually living in the future! You could tell us what 2010 is like...

Re: [Sansevierias] Happy Birthday, Norma! & Happy New Year

Hi Joe in MD   Happy New year, I am  throwing streamers , and blowing horns.  San. are alive in this weather, none are dying yet. Many new species are flower for the first time this year even the ones I have against the garage wall.  I raised the temp. control on the heater.  I'll go out and check it before going to bed early tonight.

[Sansevierias] Happy happy

Wishing you a Happy Birthday on this forum is the best possible way I
can think of, Norma, because it is read by a hundred+ other people
who all join in wishing you a great new year to come! May all your
Sansevierias bloom in 2010 and stink up the neighborhood. :-)

[Sansevierias] S. 'Fla. H-13' var. [2 Attachments]

<*>[Attachment(s) from Michael LaForest included below]

Posted here are 2 pictures of of S. 'Fla. H-13' variegated - one of
those USDA hybrid plants of the 1950's. It is a trifasciata hybrid,
and its not unusual for leaves to reach 7 feet long. The black
rectangle seen in the picture of the whole plant measures 32 by 40
inches to give some scale to the picture. There is also a little S.
'Golden Hahnii' sitting in the larger pot. The second picture shows
the flowers. The curl seen on the flower lobes is called
'revolute' (I just thought I'd throw that in there). The flower stem
measures a full 40 inches.
