Re: IT IS A GOOD THING!


We just went into the inner workings of the list to see who had applied for 
membership, and it is A GOOD THING I NOW MAKE IT THAT NEWCOMERS NEED TO BE 
VETTED. a whole bunch of folks wanted to get through the padlocked door and 
watchdogs. they all had really obscene screen names, mostly yahoo names.  I 
doubt that they were all porn merchants, i think rather they were what we 
used to call "Fun-Boys" or perhaps just one.

WELL! here in southern California where it is still very toasty, even tho 
we had two bearable days,  our autumn is really like a prolonged summer, 
and until the minute i must drag out the greenhouse heaters, the plants are 
really cranking.

I am so glad that at some point we got into the design and install part of 
landscaping, it has been a skyhook to rescue us from the blighted economy. 
Very labour-intense, but we are all hyper-active, so that's ok. One of the 
things we do is "Remedial Landscaping" for folks who suddenly decide they 
have no privacy, or whose neighbors have added a second story to their 
homes from which they peep down on the formerly private garden...

I am pleased to report that my SPECIES Sansevierias are fine, it is the 
dear and much missed variegates which took a hit when we relocated, and 
somehow, when i see the plants BANGING INTO THE CEILING OF THE GREENHOUSE, 
i am comforted!  even tho they are solid green!

more news as it develops.

Greetings! if anyone has a copy of my old and by now, out-of-date book, and 
somebody wants a copy, please feel entirely free to copy it in any way you 
like, there is no cuprite or anything like that. just do it. I have gotten 
some requests for it, and this seems like as good a way as any to make it 
available, but remember, the names from 20 years ago in many cases are 
changed, or, at that time, we did not even know what they were.

just checking......am I still here?

I just found out the following:

that I have been BANNED from the group Sansevieria

So I am checking to see if I am still here. I had some bounces from 
my yahoogroups address, but----and I say this with some confusion, I 
thought I had been subscribed under my hotmail account since I am not 
smart enough to manage a Yahoo email address.

As far as I know, I did not write anything which would cause me to be 
banned from any where.

You are still here.  I do not know if you are on Sansevierias <at> topica.com, 
which is our backup location in case Yahoo goes belly up.  Send a blank 
post to

(sigh) I just do not know how to do that EITHER. and yet, it must be simple 
since many people get Yahoo mail. i have been using Eudora for ages. but if 
you get mail at work with other people, right? i guess these web based 
email accounts are convenient.  I think when you sign onto a Yahoo group, 
there is some indication or pressure to get you to have a Yahoo email 
account also, which i suspect is so that you can get even more spam. maybe 
not...I really do not know, but I have my suspicions.
