need solaris 10 jumbo patch

I'm running Solaris 10 on my Sunblade 2500 at home.

I'm in need of the latest Solaris 10 jumbo patch. The last time I
updated the kernel and everything was a few years ago. Figured it was
about time.

I used to work at Sun but all my internal contacts have moved on.

Any help you can provide is most appreciated.

Thanks.

Anybody have Solaris 10 patch 6801926 ?

I'm running Solaris 10 Update 8 on Intel as a development system. Today I
hit the dreaded assertion failed: zvol_get_stat(os, nv) error which rendered
200G of data I spent most of yesterday moving onto a ZFS mirror pool and
double checking specifically to make sure I didn't lose it, unusable. Life
is funny sometimes. The pool is exported, and won't import. When I do a
force import I get the assertion failure and a kernel panic and the machine
reboots. So much for the department of redundancy department.

Does anybody have the patch for this? The number I found is 6801926 and it
is supposed to be applied in update 9. Unfortunately for me update 9
won't install on this box and I have no spare Intel boxes to try it on.
Solaris Express also doesn't work properly on my Intel hardware, not the
live CD and not the text installer. I've spent most of the day trying to
get this data back and no joy.

Thanks to anybody who can help.

Sun...and then there were none...

Now that I'm out a couple hundred gig of archives I've been collecting for
the past years, I noticed Oracle is battening down the hatches. On July
31st they pulled the plug on many of their archive items.

I am missing Sun Studio 11 (last release) that I had saved for playing
around with Solaris 9 in a zone. Does anybody have a copy?

Better yet, does anybody know any Sun software archives? All the stuff
looks to be disappearing fast. Thanks.

Wanted: Solaris ISO images, Field Engineer Handbook files, etc

Folks,

I'm trying to make an archive <at> SunHELP of older Solaris releases in ISO
image format, as well as a repository of things like Sun Studio versions
and Field Engineer Handbooks / Sun System Handbooks. Oracle has started
cutting off or removing access, or has removed from the web altogether, a
ton of information that needs to be preserved about the older Sun hardware
and software.

If you've got any of this material and can upload it via FTP, please
contact me off-list for the FTP server address.

Thanks.

Re: Wanted: Solaris ISO images, Field Engineer Handbook files, etc

Hi Bill

I will hunt out what I have and send you a list so you can let me know
if you already have it.

Not sure if you also want ISOs of older Solaris/Sunos releases as I have
quite a few going back to Sunos 4.1 from memory?

And if anyone wants to donate a pair of 2TB SATA hard drives to hold what
appears is going to to be a massive collection of not just Sun stuff,
please let me know. 8-)

A few people have mentioned wanting to donate via Paypal instead of sending
hardware. My paypal address is mrbill <at> mrbill.net.

Right now I've got two 2TB disks promised to me, and I ordered one Samsung
Spinpoint F4 2TB disk yesterday. This leaves me needing one more drive, at
a cost of around $95 (Amazon/Newegg), in order to have a mirrored pair of
drives in the main system, and another mirrored pair in a separate system
for backups.

Thank you, as always, for your support. I'm working to make SunHELP an
ongoing resource for users of Sun hardware and software, and a repository
of information to keep these awesome machines going and be useful for as
long as possible. After all, being a "Sun guy" launched my career.

Ordered the fourth and final disk this morning. Thank you, everyone!

Sun Solaris md5sums?

If anybody has md5sum.txt files from Sun Solaris versions or can compute
them from Solaris ISOs downloaded directly from Sun, would you please post
them on this list? md5sums on Solaris Studio would be appreciated also.

I lost a bunch of files and I want to make sure any replacement copies I
can scrounge are legit. Thanks guys.
