This is the patch needed for IBM Blade Centers to boot properly.

Unfortunately it does have dependencies on 118855-36, which drags in other
patches. About 8 all told I believe. The bits *really* only need what is in
Solaris 10 Update 3 (118855-33). So you can, in theory, patch your install
media by simply copying these bits into your miniroot archive to get it
installed. But you will also have to patch it post install and that will
require the rest of the patches be available to you.

We are trying to come up with a way to provide you patched media for such
systems. I don't know yet what form that will take. Maybe a script that
patches your install image for you, a patched install image available for
download, or what.

Mike

We even talked about this a year ago. :-)

The strange thing is that the OP (Chris Ridd) saw showrev -p
crashing after upgrading to s10u3. As 12463[01]-03 are pre-
installed with s10u3, one should assume that he already had
a fixed showrev command.

I was going to wait until the patch appeared before I commented, but I have
to say I was confused by Mike's forwarded message too.

My machine (originally U1, upgraded to U2, then upgraded to U3) does not
have patch 124631 installed on it. At least, there's no directory with that
name under /var/sadm/patch, and the showrev command merrily dumps core when
I run it.

Error on Boot

Hi All,

Received the following error on boot:

Warning: tzmon: error evaluating _AL object

The error appear after a 45 second delay after the copyright screen came on.
My questions are:

What is this?

Do I need to be concerned about it?

I am running the current nevada release of opensolaris on a Compaq Pressario
R3000 AMD 64 notebook.

3rd question: I have been looking but am not successful so far, is there a
wireless driver available for this notebook? It is a broadcom 43xx.

Thank you in advance,

Phil

From the distribution DVD? I can try that when I'm back in the office
tomorrow. I tried getting the patch using pca but that just fails due to
"missing patch file".

Right now, I get the following stack trace:

That's where it was dropping core in BugID 6489035.

Thanks, but that patch isn't accessible unless you have a support contract
:-(

Which is one of the bugs fixed in that patch according to the readme.

Cheers,
