Quake 2 video - no sound

Hello,
There was no sound driver installed in the system at that moment. After reading some replies here I've tried
later installing the sound driver and it seems failing. The audio card is present in Device manager, but
just after startup, it gives error messages about memory in userinit and rundll.

Re: Quake2 in ReactOS

I watched the video. Great work. I get why this is a big deal: smooth video,
playable game, etc. While I don't have the time to
help with reactOS I do follow along in the background. Keep up the great
work.

Re: Hard Disk No Found while install ReactOS 0.3.13

Hi,

0.3.13 is getting quite old. Can you try with a recent build? Find the
ISOs here: http://www.reactos.org/getbuilds/
If you have the same problems with that, you should file a bug report.
Join on IRC #reactos to get help.
Also note that ReactOS is not marked Alpha quality for no reason!

I'm not sure if the UNIATA driver, responsible for recognising IDE and
SATA drives, can handle every controller available. No idea if AHCI is
supported.

Anyway, thanks for the detailed info about your harddisk and laptop.
Unfortunately that doesn't tell anyone automatically what controller is
used (AMD, Intel, Via, Marvell, Silicon Image, etc), in what mode (IDE
legacy emulation or AHCI) and at what speed.

Should you wish to experiment with ReactOS, best thing right now is a
virtual machine like VirtualBox for example. On the other hand, if
wanting to resolve this hardware issue, some slightly more detailed info
could be handy.

thanks for your reply.

I want use ReactOS instead of Microsoft Windows product for some
windows-only softwares,so Vbox is not my choice.

and more info of my laptop, please see below:

Re: Hard Disk No Found while install ReactOS 0.3.13

*Points to the ROS's homepage*

Please bear in mind that ReactOS 0.3.13 is still in alpha stage,
meaning it is not feature-complete and is not recommended for everyday
use.

You will need to use a VM until a time when we are stable and feature
ready enough to get out of alpha.
