i am a student of comp sc in india. this is my final
yr project. so i would hv to do it myself :| . thanx
for the help.

When creating the TCP/IP stack i have used
_REG_PRODIRER_DOWN. Now the question is when
advertising I have to send a packet upwards using,
alloc_up_npkt . but the STACK is a down producer for
io-net. So is advertising necessary in this case, at
all? if yes, then is the method same as that of a
network card ( as given in the documentation ).

Also... is npm-ttcpip.so open source or freely
downloadable? can i view the source? is there any
elaborate documentation or any help if i want to write
a driver as a TCP/IP stack for QNX, not a hardware
driver.

Using XFree86 on node without TCP/IP

Hello,

I am trying to install XFree86 for QNX 4.XX on a node other than one that
does not have TCP/IP installed. We normally use the facilities on node 1
that does have TCP/IP by using the 'on -f'. We do not do development work on
that node so I would like to install it on my node for some graphics
experiments using Mesa.

Is there a configuration file where TCP startup can be disabled? Or do I
need to modify some code in the XFree86 project to disable socket use and
startup? Not that I would know where to start.

Maybe you ran out of file descriptors, and possibly other resources.
Try to increase that (make a new boot image).

1) is the hard disk too big? and QNX partition beyond cylinder 1024?
What's on the screen when you try to boot the HD?

2) QNX 4 has some issues with the new Pentium machine. Most of the
community QNX users are using QNX 6 because it is free. QNX 4 is very
expensive and there are all commercial users. You may want to contact
QNX for a new version of Fsys.floppy that works with Pentium machine.
