Re: vp_attach() is failing.

Hi,

  We got the solution of our problem.

  If we want to use VPI, we have to run the Tcpip socket manager with
the -v option.

problem with nic_create_allocator id device driver

Thank you for responding.

I am writing device driver for rtl8139B in qnx.
i hava a trial version of qnx.
in the sample driver which he has given in /usr/src/ddk-6.2.1/network/src/hardware/devn/pcnet/init.c
he has used some functions like nic_create_device() and nic_allocator_create().
he has not defined these fountions and i did not find any documentation for these functions.
their declerations are in /usr/src/ddk-6.2.1/prebuilt/usr/include/drvr/support.h
i am not able to understand what that functions are doing.

the function decleration is like this
int nic_allocator_create(nic_allocator_t *hdl,nic_allocator_args_t *arg);

if you know anyting about these functions please respond.
Bye.

QNX on Virtual PC (Mac)

Working otherwise great, but the network connection is not up.
What can I do, which settings should I have?

Feedback preferably from someone who has QNX+VPC him/herself, so I
won't have to explain the VPC side.

thanks, -ak

ifunit - undefined reference

Hi,
I'm working on QNx4.25, watcom C compiler 10.6, tcpip stack v5.0
I am doing a porting work to qnx.
In regards to that i would like to get information on ifunit().
ifunit() is a function which will map the interface name with interface
pointer(struct ifnet *).

The program which i am porting is in user address space. On compilation
it gives me error message
ifunit- undefined reference.

The prototype (in /usr/includ/net/if.h ) goes like this
struct ifnet *ifp;
struct ifnet *ifunit (char *ifname) ;

pls give me tip for solving this. Waiting for it, since this has to be
fixed very soon.
Thanks in advance
Divakar

samba + QNX6 (need help!)

Got my Virtual PC / QNX networking okay, the machines ping etc.

Next hurdle: Samba.

Target: Reaching my SMB host (OS X) from QNX box, in order to compile
stuff.

Status: Samba installed, but gives the following complaints:

	SMBfsys &
	--> SMBfsys: not found

Isn't it needed/used under QNX6 any more?

	smbclient //192.168.1.2/asko -U asko
	-->
	added interface ip=192.168.131.77 bcast=192.168.131.255
nmask=255.255.255.0
	Password:
	Anonymous login succesful
	Domain=[WORKGROUP] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 3.0.2]
	tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED

It never lets me actually type in the password.. Weird. Might be
therefore access is denied. What can I do??

samba on QNX 6.2.1 terrrrrrrrribly slooooow..

I heard some warnings about 'cifs' being terribly slow on QNX, but it's
almost unusable!

I must be doing something wrong, since even the tiniest gcc compilation
over the link (no problems creating it, or doing a simple 'ls') more or
less freezes the console.

	fs-cifs 192.168.1.2:/asko /imac asko xxx &

	ls /imac		(is okay)

	cd /imac/TestBox/Sources/luax-perforce

	make

	..and here it gets stuck!

LuaX for QNX (beta testers needed)

I did manage to get LuaX (my open source project) to compile under QNX
6.2.1.

Is there anyone out there having interest to beta test? More
information can be found under
http://www.testbox.fi/navigation/luax/index.html  (but ask for QNX
version from me, not yet on the net).

Cheers, - ak

Still bothering you.. (QNX filesystem check?)

I got my QNX (running under a Virtual PC environment) to a state where
any 'make' or similar command soon causes everything go awry.. Even
'ls' won't work - strange?!?

Anyhow, I got most of the porting done. If any of you has a tip on how
to:

	a) check the state of the filesystem
	b) otherwise prevent such instable situations

..I'd be interested. :)
