Emacs crashing the system

Hi

FreeBSD pcbsd-7344 9.0-RC2 FreeBSD 9.0-RC2 #1: Mon Nov 14 10:24:41 PST
2011     root@...:/usr/obj/builds/amd64/pcbsd-build90/fbsd-source/9.0/sys/GENERIC
 amd64

When running emacs, the system freezes without even mouse responding.
Once I drop to a new console and kill emacs, things return to normal.

pcbsd-7344% emacs

(emacs:7111): GLib-WARNING **: In call to g_spawn_sync(), exit status
of a child process was requested but SIGCHLD action was set to SIG_IGN
and ECHILD was received by waitpid(), so exit status can't be
returned. This is a bug in the program calling g_spawn_sync(); either
don't request the exit status, or don't set the SIGCHLD action.
pcbsd-7344%

warm regards
