Windows logical drives missing in dolphin after PCBSD8.0 reinstall

Dear Kris

I have reinstalled PCBSD 8.0. which already have ubuntu and windows. I have just installed Ubuntu 10.04. The old Grub was replaced with Grub2. So i edited the Grub2 for an entry for PCBSD 8.0. Earlier install had file errors and i had to reinstall. During the first install All windows drives where listed in the Dolphin and was accessible. Now only the C drive of windows is accessible. So in order to verify i installed PCBSD 7.1 The windows drives were taken up and was accessible. Then i did resinstall of PCBSD 8.0. This time i noticed a message while booting

GEOM ad6 partition2 does not start on a track boundary
GEOM ad6 partition2 does not end on a track boundary

How to make the all windows drives accessible in PCBSD 8.0

Regards

Dalfish

Denyhost

Dear all,

Is the Denyhost working properly?  I'm looking through all of my logs and don't see that sshd actually deny anyone although my hosts.deniedssh has a healthy numbers of entries.  It seems that <twist /bin/echo "Server %d denied from %h" > is never called...at least I never see it in my auth.log after host has been added to hosts.deniedssh.  Is this the way it suppose to be?

Best,
Quyen

Portsjail

Dear all,

I've noticed two things with portjail.

1/ If you visit /usr/jail/portsjail/usr/ports via any a normal shell, then there is a time discrepancy of about 5-6h with the time reported within the jail.  Is this normal?

2/ Updating the ports tree within portjail via System Management always recreate the whole tree instead of only updating the tree.  This wastes much bandwidth and time...The source code within portsnapprogress.cpp doesn't seem to allow "fetch update."  For now, I've resorted to updating the ports tree within the jail manually.

Best,
Quyen

Re: Wireless driver

I'm not familiar with your card but I would refer you to the hardware list posted here

http://www.freebsd.org/releases/8.0R/hardware.html

BSD is not like windows where you find a "driver" for a hardware.  There are kernel modules that you add to all the operating system to talk to the hardware.  Hopefully one of those kernel module will allow BSD to talk to your wireless card.

Best,
Quyen
