I just added this module to the build server. It will probably build fine there, it looks you might have messed up something with your ports tree that is causing that build error.
Thanks for sending it in!

Re: pbi_makeport tries to fetch fbsd-release.txz

When pbi_makeport tries to fetch fbsd-release.txz for the chroot, it can't find the file because all files on the mirrors ends on .tbz. As a workaround, I edit the /usr/local/sbin/pbi_makeport, line 6328 from fetch -o rel.txz ${MIRRORURL}/${SYSVER}/${ARCH}/netinstall/fbsd-release.txz to fetch -o rel.txz ${MIRRORURL}/${SYSVER}/${ARCH}/netinstall/fbsd-release.tbz.

Are you on 9.0, and then updated the pbi source code?

If so, do this:

pbreg set /PC-BSD/Version 9-STABLE-20120524

That should get you the right path for the .txz files.

Created PBIs do not work?

Hi PBI fellows,

I have tried to create two PBIs for scientific application which I would like to use for my work:

1. math/rkward
2. math/sage

These were created with EasyPBI 1.2 on my AMD64 machine. These appeared to be built flawlessly, however they just do not work after I install the PBI products and tried to launch from Kick-off. At first the mouse cursor appears that it's launching the two new applications but then a few seconds later nothing happen with no error message.

Is there anyway that I can investigate what has gone wrong?

Also why is the EasyPBI on AppCafe still remains as ver. 1.0 rather than 1.2?

Regards,
Sam

Sam Lin-

I would suggest to try launching them from the commandline.  If you need the path to the executable, you can find it in the properties of the icons or menu items, though they should be in /usr/pbi/appname/bin/app or similar.

Have a great day!

Skanlite

Is a simple image scanning application that does nothing more than scan and save images. Skanlite can open a

Run your PBI's from the command-line in order to see any error output:
Example: "/usr/pbi/(pbi-name)-(arch)/.sbin/(binary-name)"
This will help you to figure out what is happening in the background. I think that sage is just a library collection, so I am not sure that there is a GUI component to it (or even a usable binary), but you should probably check that.

Also, after numerous requests for the maintainer to update the EasyPBI port, I decided to go ahead and update the port myself. I am currently in the process of testing my changes and making sure it works, but I am hoping to have this finished soon. Once the port update gets committed, we can then get a new PBI out in the AppCafe.

The PBI release process. Or, why hasn't the Blender pbi been bumped

What is the process for triggering a new pbi build when the underlying
port has been updated? Is there an automated process or does it require
manual intervention?

Specifically, the blender port has been updated to 2.6.3,1
(http://www.freshports.org/graphics/blender/) . There have been two
updates to the port since the last pbi was built on
(ftp://ftp.pcbsd.org/pub/pbioutgoing/x64/9/graphics/blender/). Is there
another build server that tracks ports on a more frequent basis?

Thanks,
-Rob ( <at> mindKMST)

A new PBI is built automatically once a new version is detected in the
FreeBSD ports tree. Once that PBI has built, it gets tested for
functionality before it is approved (pushed out to the AppCafe).

The PBI build servers were down for quite a while to facilitate building
the latest PC-BSD 9.1-snapshots. They are currently back up and running,
but it will take a little bit for them to catch back up with all the
port changes. You can keep up with build servers and download the latest
(untested/unapproved) PBI's directly from them at the following websites:
http://pbibuild.pcbsd.org (32-bit PBI's)
http://pbibuild64.pcbsd.org (64-bit PBI's)

Thank you for your patience!
