FF3.5?

Is this going to work in AMD64?

http://www.freshports.org/www/firefox35/

I heard rumors it doesn't work for 64 bit and won't until 3.6 sometime next year.

Re: FF3.5?

As far as I know it will work on amd64. The server is building it right now, when its done I'll
test and get it uploaded to pbidir :)

Dia

I asked the maintainer of Dia when the latest version of Dia (.97) would make it into ports and he asked me to test the patch file.  I did and it compiled and tested just fine.  I'm guessing 0.97 will be in ports soon, or just apply the patch file.

Here's the patch for the makefile in Dia .96 to compile Dia .97.

http://people.freebsd.org/~avl/patches/dia-0.97.diff

This is a pretty good copy of Visio.

I added the request to the wiki.

Sun PDF import OO extension?

I'd really like to have the Sun PDF import extension for OO, but it doesn't support BSD, but it does support Linux.

Is it possible to use it in BSD somehow?

Re: Sun PDF import OO extension?

Thats a good question. I don't personally know enough about the OO plugin formats to tell you
why or if it can work in BSD. I would recommend e-mailing the plugin creator, to ask. Maybe
they can release a BSD version of it. It could be some binary plugin they need to compile on BSD directly.

Samsung Printerdriver "splix"

http://cvsweb.freebsd.org/ports/print/splix

can we add this to the pbi wishlist?

Re: Samsung Printerdriver "splix"

Sure! Go ahead and add it to the wiki when you get a chance. I should
be able to make a PBI of it fairly easily.

PBI delays

I just happened to glance at the PBI build server queue recently and noticed a whole bunch of PBIs finished and presumably ready for use, but not listed on the PBI site, including FF 3.5.1.  Why the delay?

Re: PBI delays

Thats partially my fault, Gon was sick this last week and I was writing a new upload-manager for approved
PBIs so that
we can start uploading / approving much quicker now. Its all finished up, just need to get caught up now :)

While we're on the subject, we could use a hand with testing / approving PBIs before we publish them to
pbidir.com.
Anybody who's interested, needs to monitor the build server output:

http://pbibuild.pcbsd.org
http://pbibuild64.pcbsd.org

Simply download and try installing / running any new PBIs, then post back to the list with your results, such as:

Installed: OK
Runs: OK
Uninstalls: OK
Version of PC-BSD: 7.1.1 / i386

That'll help us out a lot, and let us upload these much quicker. Also, if some users step up and show
consistency in
testing software, we'll now be able to start giving out upload / approval access so others can become part of
the PBI
approval team. That'll help both Gonzalo and I out a lot, since the number of PBIs needing testing / approval
is growing
with every module we commit :)
