Using <Start Dialog> in Setup

Is it possible to use the <Start Dialog>...<End Dialog> tags in
PBI.SetupScript.sh? My tests seem to indicate this only works in
FirstRun, and I should probably be using kdialog directly in the other
scripts. Is this correct? Thanks.

server programs

I am new to PC-BSD, formerly using FreeBSD 7. I switched for the ease of
use of the system. I was fine without the PBIs and other helpful
features, but I will be using this system for some clients and wanted to
become familiar with it so I can answer their questions. I use this
machine as a server and will be going about the process of reinstalling
the latest versions of Apache, PHP, MySQL, Tcl, and other server
programs. While I'm putting them on I figured I'd utilize the PBI system
instead of just using the ports tree directly, and that if I'm going
through the trouble of making them, why not share them with the community?
Please let me know if I can help make PBIs for distribution on pbidir or
be part of the PBI-Dev team.
Thanks,
Robert Swain

Bacula Bat PBI

Hello.

I come from PC-BSD forum which seems to be not the best place for getting PBIs
to wider audience. And actually this is quite a first version of the PBI I'd
dare to share to wider audience :)

Anyway, what I haven't find out from forums is what to do with Update URL -
should it be set to "http://update.pbidir.com"?

So could anyone take a look at this and give me some feedback about what the
PBI lacks etc?

About Kris' question about integration of kmdr-executor into the PBI - when I
created the Kommander script, I did try first including kmdr-executor and
then creating Kommander PBI too, but it was quite a tough task as
kmdr-executor is dependent on different KDE libraries and environment
variables etc. Or maybe I was just too incompetent. More about the issue
here: http://mail.kdewebdev.org/pipermail/kommander/2008-March/001678.html

Robert,

We would love to have your help on the PBI Dev team on some Server
PBI's. What would be nice about having those available, is that your
customers could use the "update" service also, to get new versions of
the PBI applications without any difficulty. Gonzalo and I will be more
than happy to help answer any questions you may have about the PBI
creation process. The first place you'll want to look though is here:

http://www.pcbsd.org/content/view/45/30/

If you are on PC-BSD 1.5.x, go ahead and download the PBI Builder
software and install it via the commands listed on the page. There is

That is the correct URL, that'll allow us to issue updates for the PBI
via the Updater service properly :)

The only thing I saw was the problem with kmd-executor not being
present. But maybe we can fix that?

How did you build this PBI, did you use the GUI creator, or the PBI
Builder software?

That would be very cool. But what if the kmdr-executor with all the libraries
would be bigger than Bat itself? Should it be provided as a separate package
then?

I used PBI Creator for that. Would PBI Builder be more suitable for that?
