Use the abiword2 port instead.

Re: Unable to upgrade Pango because of wrong checksums

There is a bad GNOME mirror in /opt/local/share/darwinports/resources/
port1.0/fetch/mirror_sites.tcl

edit that file and remove every line that includes planetmirror.com

then do a "sudo port clean --all pango ; sudo port -dv upgrade pango"

Are you using 'direct' mode (instead of the default, 'image' mode?)

If so, I don't think the released version of darwinports supports
upgrade (the CVS version does, though).

Not consciously. What is direct mode? Searched the man page and didn't see
it.

Tried 'port clean --all clamav' and upgraded again, but got the same error.

It's a ports.conf setting:

% grep portinstalltype /opt/local/etc/ports/ports.conf
portinstalltype         image

(the above is the default)

If you just want to make things work, you can probably do:

port -f uninstall clamav
port install clamav

rsync error?

I have received the following error when trying to install ports:

--->  Fetching pkgconfig
--->  Attempting to fetch pkg-config-0.20.tar.gz from http://
pkgconfig.freedesktop.org/releases/
--->  Attempting to fetch pkg-config-0.20.tar.gz from http://

Error: The following dependencies failed to build: glib2 pkgconfig
gtk2 atk cairo fontconfig expat freetype zlib libpixman libpng render
xrender pango Xft2 tiff jpeg libpcap openssl
Error: /opt/local/bin/port: Status 1 encountered during processing.

I have tried to install different ports and each of them gives me
this error. Is this a situation where rsync is being blocked, or is
there something else here that I am missing? The strange thing is
that it installed 2 dependencies and then started returning this error.

This has probably been covered in previous posts. I apologize if this
is the case.

nmap

Some people said they had no trouble with nmap on Intel Macs. I found
a few things on the web discussing the problem, saying it was a gcc
optimization problem. I also saw a note saying the maintainer would
be sending out a patch real soon now. That was a while ago.

Here's an example:

sudo nmap -A naulahka.org

Starting Nmap 4.01 ( http://www.insecure.org/nmap/ ) at 2006-06-01
11:32 PDT
caught SIGSEGV signal, cleaning up
Abort

-A is just the easiest way to make it crash. Other flag settings
result in the same behavior.

Thanks for your help. After removing the planetmirror mirror I was
able to update pango.

Kind regards,
