Well, it tells me something is really weird, I don't know
why you're seeing the receipt contents (I don't see it when installing
popt for example). I'm wondering if something has gone (badly) wrong
during the selfupdate (no idea why). As much as I don't like the
idea, have you tried removing the DP install you've got [1] and
re-installing DP from the disk image and *not* doing a selfupdate?
That would tell us if you've got a local system problem or if
something is going wrong in the selfupdate.

That's an interesting idea. Still no joy, but the log of the install
is attached.

Hello everyone,

I am having some issues installing xfig. First of all, it doesn't

Hi Juan,

Even after two mails on the same issue I've got the impression I've
not managed to express the point I had in mind.

Trying to be as clear and concise as possible this time: the
documentation says (wrongly) the portfiles live by default in ~/
darwinports/dports, while the "DarwinPorts-1.0 notes" in the 4 May
news say (rightly) the portfiles live now by default in /opt/local/
var/db/dports/sources/.

This isn't a problem normally, as the corresponding setting has
vanished from /opt/local/etc/ports/sources.conf, so that the updated
location is used.

This is strange. Here with Mac OS X 10.4.2, I still get the same error
with the following commands:

  sudo port -d selfupdate
  sudo port -v clean libiconv
  sudo port -v upgrade libiconv

Re: 1.012 fixage/resolvage

I am also seeing this problem after a self-update a half hour ago.
All installed ports are up-to-date.

Also Mac OS X 10.4.2.

You may want to try port clean[all] and see if that helps.

Download Behaviour

I'm seeing a strange download behavior. It only happens on some ports,
but I can't narrow down which ones. What happens is that it downloads
the entire file into the distfiles directory as a .TMP file, decides it
hasn't downloaded it, and downloads it again. This happens four times,
and then it gives up. It looks like this:

"sudo port -d clean" constantly says:

DEBUG: Changing to port directory: /Users/vinc17
DEBUG: Requested variant powerpc is not provided by port cotvnc.
DEBUG: Requested variant darwin is not provided by port cotvnc.
DEBUG: Requested variant macosx is not provided by port cotvnc.

It doesn't clean everything (e.g. not libiconv).

Re: 1.012 fixage/resolvage

I tried a

sudo port clean --all libiconv

followed by

sudo port install iconv

And got the same problem:

lib/libintl.dylib /opt/local/lib/libiconv.dylib -lc

ld: warning suggest use of -bind_at_load, as lazy binding may result

I'll probably take a deeper look later tonight.
