error installing fortune

Hi!
When trying to install fortune I get this error:

$ sudo port -v install fortune
--->  Verifying checksum(s) for fortune
--->  Checksumming fortune-4.6.2-RELEASE.tar.bz2
Error: No checksum set for fortune-4.6.2-RELEASE.tar.bz2
Correct checksum: fortune-4.6.2-RELEASE.tar.bz2 md5
99166e1c47d4b60c865a31d59d359b16
Error: Target com.apple.checksum returned: Unable to verify file checksums
Warning: the following items did not execute (for fortune):
com.apple.activate com.apple.extract com.apple.checksum com.apple.patch
com.apple.configure com.apple.build com.apple.destroot com.apple.install

Here is a mail (from august 2003!) with some kind of a patch without any
explanation how to add it:

<http://www.opendarwin.org/pipermail/darwinports-bugs/2003-August/006188.html>

So I'm stuck.

I also asked the Darwinports mailing list without any result so I hope
for some kind of responds about how to fix this.

Thanks,
/Helgi Örn

Because there is nothing to force?

Oh, but there is:

sudo port info exim
Error: Requested variants do not match original selection.
Please perform 'port clean exim' or specify the force option.

Quite frankly, you shouldn't be getting that message because for info
the statefile isn't checked (it doesn't even come close). Let me see
if I can reproduce it here... how up-to-date is your base? Do you get
this will all ports that have variants that you've installed?

That's very odd.

I've only installed one port. I'm just trying to set up a cluster of mail
servers. All I want to do is get exim working.

My base is pretty recent. I only installed it a few days ago. I don't know
how to update it, or check how up to date it is. I have modified the exim
Portfile, and installed exim with several variants enabled.

I don't know if this is relevant:

I've installed exim on three machines, using a remotely mounted
        /local/src/darwinports and

This is why we need some sort of version (build/date/whatever)
information that the port command can spit out.

If I was totally on top of things, I would be recommending we use
subversion revision numbers (but I haven't created a subversion version
of our CVS repository recently, much less made a convincing case for dp
to switch to it).

I imagine that we could come up with some other way to identify how
recent a base install is ...

I'll go away until I have some code to show, though ;-)

I have some code for this already... and I made this argument several
months ago, and basically got nothing back, a few people saying "we
don't need it", a couple "cool", and most everyone seemingly happy with
the status quo.

I can go back and dig it up (I've still got patches, but they'll need
cleaning up), if people think this is again worth our time.

Do you have the latest base/ code installed? Double-check for me.
I will look at this right away as well...
