Intel 'em' for sure.

Re: Dell PE1850 with PERC4/ei?

Hello.
I have 2 Dell 1850 running OpenBSD 3.7 whith this controllers.
In the 3.6 the raid controller does not work, but in the 3.7 the
support for this raid controller is very nice.

In the booth servers i have 6 Intel NIC, and the performance is very
nice too!

ipcomp_input_cb(): crypto error 22

  in the hopes that i'm not just spitting random

Re: ipcomp_input_cb(): crypto error 22

  on a whim, i tried IPv6, but he says:

===
ipcomp_init(): initialized TDB with ipcomp algorithm Deflate
ipcomp_output(): unknown/unsupported protocol family 24, IPCA 2001:0470:1f01:0245:0007:e9ff:fe08:d1fc/00004444
===

  so it correctly determines whether to send an ipcomp packet or not,
  but if it tries to send it, the sending host spits out the above
  error, so it's not a good test.

  line 150 of /usr/src/sys/crypto/cryptodev.h says:

---
       int             crp_etype;      /*
                                         * Error type (zero means no error).
                                         * All error codes except EAGAIN
                                         * indicate possible data corruption (as
 in,
                                         * the data have been touched). On all
                                         * errors, the crp_sid may have changed
                                         * (reset to a new one), so the caller
                                         * should always check and use the new
                                         * value on future requests.
                                         */
---

  so i don't know if even the error info that it is 'error 22' helps...

  <sigh>

Minor patch to afterboot manpage

Hi,

I've recenly installed OpenBSD 3.7 on my Zaurus C3000. While perusing
the afterboot manpage to figure out how to configure my system, I
noticed that the manpage indicated that the /etc/rc.conf.local file was
referred to before the manpage stated that the user had to create this file.

So this patch adds a small paragraph instructing the user to create this
file immediately after the root password and system date are set. I
think this makes the page read better and avoids the user referring to
this file before it is created.

Thanks to all who responded to my "PE1850 with Dell's hardware RAID"

purchasing standards :)

I was thinking of buying one too [when I get paid... someday], the
idea of having a pocket computer with a full featured OS (wireless
networking, services, X, etc..) is soo irresistible.

The problem is I'm in Mexico, not Europe. Are they still available in the USA?

P.S. Marc, did you get the qmake patch?

howto clean disks ?

Hi,

I'm going to give away some old hard disks and I'm planning to
delete/overwrite all the data on them. Is there any tool to make this
automagically ?

Thanks.
