Re: Broken Internet Connection

Hi Robert.

I tried with each of the set dial lines by themselves. That didn't work.
Good catch though!! There should only be one "set dial" line.

Peace,

John

Broken Internet Connection

Hi Folks,

I've spent several hours trying to set up my internet dial up connection
without success.
After entering "ppp -background cpinternet" at the terminal, I get the
following messages.

Add route failed: 0.0.0.0/0: errno: No such process
Nov 24 09:56:28 jmath[28872]: tun0: Warning Add route failed: 0.0.0./0:
errno: No such process

At this point, my Best Data v 92 external modem dials my service provider.
The
support staff at cpinternet tells me that thier logs indicate that I
successfully
logged in and that the connection was broken by my computer. Then I get
    the following messages.

Nov 24 09:56:28 jmath ppp[4802]: tun0: Warning Chat script failed
Nov 24 09:57:29 jamth ppp[4803]: tun0: Warning Chat script failed
Child failed(errdead)

Cpinternet uses pap but not chap. The support person that I talked to
was a FreeBSD user. He spent a couple of hours trying to help me
    over the phone without success.

I have enclosed my config and mesg files. Can somebody here help me with
this. I have done a lot of reading on this and banged my head against the
wall
    several times.
