Any update on this? Unless you've made large progress I may continue
on this myself, as it really needs to get done and is holding up a lot
of WebPositive progress.

Once it is done we will all be able to work on Web+ much more easily.

Help getting 1,000 EUR for Haiku development

Hi everyone!

If you're not aware of it already, there's a chance to collect 1,000
EUR from the German DiBa bank by voting for the "Haiku Support
Association (HSA)". It's been on the Haiku-os.org front page for two
weeks now [1], if you haven't already, please head over there to read
the details and cast your vote.

Currently we're with 829 votes in 2,155th place, and we'd need to get
into the top-1,000, which at the moment requires at least 2,550 votes.

 * Everyone can vote, no need to apply for German citizenship

 * Your supplied information will *not* be used by anyone

 * You have 3 votes with your email address

 * You can vote until 15th of November 2011

Please help us secure these funds. As the recent commit storm
demonstrated impressively, the BeGeistert Code Sprint is extremely
effective. The 1,000 EUR would allow us to finance the next (few?) Code
Sprints without Haiku Inc. having to chip in as generously as they
have, freeing resources for other projects.

Thanks very much!
Regards,
Humdinger

And don't be afraid it's all in German either - there is a link at the
middle, titled "Stimme abgeben" (ie. vote here).
Then it asks for your mail (with a captcha), where a confirmation link
is then sent to you. You would need to go through this procedure 3 times
if you want to spend all your votes to HSA.

If a bank is giving away money, we should definitely try to benefit from
it :-)

Bye,
    Axel.

I finally voted too. I'll try to get some non-Haiku friends to do it
too, though no guarantees since it is sort of a pain (but it is was
too easy to game it wouldn't be fair.)

My votes have been cast as well. Good luck and I will see if I can get some other folks to help out as well.

Cheers!

Re: Help getting 1,000 EUR for Haiku development

I voted using this emailaddress, but using my other private email and
email at work addresses I didn't receive the emails from the bank.

Hope you get lots more votes though,

Regards,

Arnold

Maybe the spam filter snatched those up, or your corporate firewall is
particularly anal about observing the working hours of your
sweatshop...

Thanks anyway!

Humdinger,

This announcement made us climb ~100-150 positions right away. I think
it is neccessary to be very active within (and outside) the community
in order to get the needed votes.
