DELQA Turbo -- M7516-YM

I see a turbo DELQA on ebay and I was curious if anybody figured out if
this was only a firmware change, or if it was a hardware change from the
original DELQA. I remember some talk about this a while back, but never
saw anything definitive.

I see from the pictures that the ROM is 365E5 and 366E5.

Which NetBSD for a VAX 4000 108

I am working on a VAX 4000 108, for a friend. I tried an
install of OpenBSD 3.3 current builds 14 and 33, and both
of those come up although the build 33 has some strange
disk layout issues that prevented me from doing much.
The build 14 worked fine. I wanted also to see if a NetBSD
would run on the box, and tried a NetBSD-1.6 stable from
a couple of days ago, and that just locked up the machine,
not even getting into the boot. The same disk runs fine on
VAX 31xx boxes, and 4000 60/90 boxes. Is there a better
set of binaries for NetBSD VAX that I should be using to
try to run on a 4000 108? I was under the impression that
current was sort of not-there yet, because of compiler
issues. Anyone actually running a NetBSD on a 4000 108
class machine? (That is one nice little peeceeVAXentoy,
with a few hundred mb of ram and some decent HD space!
Too bad it had to look like a peecee rather than a VAX!)

Thanks

How did this story end? Is there a 1.53 ISO image in some
non-standard location?

Somthing from 1.6-release/stable is what I would recommend at the
moment. I tried -current from late May and it was quite unstable. (NFSD
causes kernel panics.)

Maybe this machine has a similar system architecture like the MV3100m9x
or VAX4000m100? If yes you need patched boot blocks. Try

i don't remember anyone mentioning anything. i got the /90, let me get it
setup, and i'll make you an iso.

I have yet to find a 1.5.3 port-vax .iso anywhere.

Re: 1.5.3 ISO for VAX?

It doesn't officially exist, from what I can tell. You can boot a
1.5.2 iso and ftp install or such the 1.5.3 stuff. I hear Brian
may make a 1.5.3 iso for us. If so.... great!

11/750 minimum config

Hi guys :)

The time of my life has finally rolled around that I can have a good crack
at getting my VAX 11/750 up and roaring (as i'm sure David Brownlee would be
pleased to note!)

I'd like to canvass your opinions on the absolute minimum of hardware that I
need in there (I know f'rinstance that I can remove the floating-point card
and the RDM) to have something that should at least get to console.

I would also like to know what sort of power load we would be talking per
card, if anyone is privvy to that sort of information, or at least an
informed guess.

Same applies for the system blower - does anyone have a ballpark figure on
how much air it should be pushing?

Thanks

Nice! :-) I have a 11/750 myself that I powered on yesterday :-)
It just needs network to be happy.

Well, that depends. You need the four CPU cards (L0002, L0003, L0004 and
L0008) and also the memory/unibus/rom card (L0010, L0016 or L0022).
Then you need some memory (M8750, 1MB each). If you have Massbus disks
there must also be a L0007 Massbus controller, for unibus disks choose
the controller you need. The only additional card you need is the
Unibus terminator card.

Per card is a strange way of measure, but the whole machine runs nicely
in a 10A fuse in Europe (230V).

``Much''. There are air-flow sensors inside the machine that will shut

Vamos que llegamos...

Estimado Vecino

Soy Patricia Bullrich.
