Comment acheter une entreprise

		FORMATION

	Introduction

netbsd-4 MP kernel panic

Sorry for the noise, but I'm in a rush and just noticed this and need
to log it somewhere.

While rebuilding the system, the console of my dual hypersparc-150
SS20 reported the following:

[...]
Jun 24 11:38:08 ss20a /netbsd: nfs server halloran:/r0/d2/NetBSD: is alive again
Jun 24 15:38:40 ss20a /netbsd: nfs server hxcall(cpu1,0xf00087e4): couldn't ping cpus:panic:
cpu0cpu0: stuck on lock <at> f0353344

syncing disks... alloran:/r0/d2/NetBSD: not responding

The machine is running 4.0BETA_2 from around 27 March 2007 with an MP kernel
customized from GENERIC/GENERIC.MP, built with -mcpu=hypersparc. System
sources are on the file server "halloran", everything else goes to local
disk on the machine "ss20a" itself.

It was doing the following at the time (from frozen SSH session):

[...]
# install /d1/nbsd/DEST/sparc/bin/cp
STRIP=/d1/nbsd/tools/sparc/bin/sparc--netbsdelf-strip /d1/nbsd/tools/sparc/bin/nbinstall -U
-M /d1/nbsd/DEST/sparc/METALOG -D /d1/nbsd/DEST/sparc -h sha1 -N
/amd/halloran/r0/d2/NetBSD/src/etc -c -r -o root -g wheel -m 555 cp /d1/nbsd/DEST/sparc/bin/cp
--- install-games ---
--- install-backgammon ---
--- install-usr.sbin ---
--- /d1/nbsd/DEST/sparc/usr/share/man/cat8/accton.0 ---

I wonder if a kernel compiled with:

  options LOCKDEBUG

would show any more information.

cacti and snmp query on ethernet interface

Howdy...

I managed to get snmpd working on Linux x86 so that with
a configured snmpd.conf I can query:

snmpwalk -v 1 -c bedford localhost interfaces

and get response back on the localhost

I'm not well versed on SNMP stuff but I have failed to
get a reponse from the same command on my
sparcstation 20 running NetBSD 3.1 with an le0 interface.

I googled around and borrowed from other configurations
I saw, but no change.

lsof -Pni shows snmp is listening:

snmpd 3705 root 8u IPv4 0xf0b6bb40 0t0 TCP *:199 (LISTEN)
snmpd 3705 root 10u IPv4 0xf0b647e0 0t0 UDP *:161

This is the snmpd.conf:

==============================================

sysservices 76

rocommunity bedford 192.168.0.0/24

com2sec paranoid default public

Silly question, you _did_ actually install a SNMP daemon and run it
did you not? NetBSD does not have one in the base system, if you have
not already done so you will need to install something like net-snmpd
from pkgsrc.

I have snmp working fine with cacti on my amd64 machine...

Re: cacti and snmp query on ethernet interface

Yes, I built snmpd from pkgsrc about a week ago.
I've found it can get back a result from some queries,
just not on the ethernet interface.

For example, this works...

# snmpget -v 1 -c public 127.0.0.1 sysUpTime.0
DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (582119) 1:37:01.19

snmpwalk -v 2c -c public -m ALL localhost .1.3 | more
will also spew out a bunch of MIB variables but I don't know
if anything is useful in that.

As I did for the previous branches, I'll do regular bulk builds from
pkgsrc-2007Q2 and provide the resulting binaries for NetBSD 2.1, 3.1 and
4.0 on i386, sparc and (new with this branch) amd64. Expect binaries to
show up in about 10 days for i386 and amd64, and 3 to 4 weeks for sparc.

Re: netbsd-4 MP kernel panic

This time around, I built and installed kernels build from the latest
netbsd-4 sources (updated late 28 June). During the subsequent build
of the userland, I got the same panic again.

When I'd recovered from that, I built and installed kernels with
"options LOCKDEBUG". During the restarts of the userland build, I got
the panic twice more, but with more information.

The output is below. The first line is from the non-LOCKDEBUG kernel, the
subsequent two groups are from the LOCKDEBUG kernel. The files referenced
live on my file server, via NFS.
